APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A WATER-RACE.
UNDER THE MINING ACT, 1908.
To the Warden of the Westland Mining District, at Stafford.
PURSUANT to the Mining Act, 1908, the undersigned, Gerard William Keller, of Hokitika, Hotelkeeper, hereby applies for a license for a water-race (partly tunnel, partly race) as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.
Precise time of marking out privilege applied for: 5.30 p.m. on 23rd December, 1912.
Date and number of miner’s right: 16th November, 1912; No. 94779.
Address for service: Care of C. J. P. Sellers, Solicitor, Hokitika.
Dated at Hokitika this 14th day of January, 1913.
Schedule.
Locality of the race and of its starting and terminal points: Turiwhate Survey District, commencing at a point in Block XIII, said survey district; terminal point in Block IX, said survey district.
Length and intended course of race: One-mile tunnel north-west from point of intake to peg marked “II” near trig. peg N.E.; thence by four miles of race northerly to a point above junction of Lebel and the Arahura-Wainihinihi Creeks. Pegs marked “X.”
Portion of the tunnel and the race goes through the freehold property known as “The Hokitika Harbour Board Endowment Reserve No. 145.” It is proposed to bring water on to Big Dam Hill for the purpose of working the adjacent goldfields.
Point of intake: Immediately above fall in the Second Gorge of the Arahura River.
Estimated time and cost of construction: Eighteen months; £21,000.
Mean depth and breadth: 8 ft. by 6 ft.
Number of heads to be diverted: Eighty Government heads.
Purpose for which water is to be used: Mining.
Proposed term of license: Forty-two years.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto existing between the undersigned, under the style of GARDNER AND ROBINSON, of Christchurch, Land Agents, is hereby dissolved as from this date. The business will in future be carried on by the said F. G. GARDNER on his own account at No. 672 Colombo Street, Christchurch, who will receive all debts and discharge all liabilities owing to or by the late firm respectively.

NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 230 of the Companies Act, 1908, that a general meeting of the members of the above company will be held at the office of Messieurs Stringer and Bridge, Cathedral Square, Christchurch, on Friday, the 14th day of February next, at the hour of 4 o’clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of having an account laid before them showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator; and also of determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidator thereof shall be disposed of.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Otago Railway Employees’ Benefit Society, Register No. 161, held at Railway-station, Dunedin, is dissolved by instrument registered at this office the 30th day of January, 1913, unless, within three months from the date of the Gazette in which the advertisement appears, proceedings be commenced by a member or other person interested in or having a claim on the funds of the society to set aside such dissolution, and the same be set aside accordingly.
