Notice to Mariners No. 12 of 1913.

THE following Notices to Mariners, received from the
Port Officer, Melbourne, and from the Minister of
State for Communications, Tokyo, Japan, are published for
general information.

VICTORIA.
Eastern Entrance, Western Port.
REFERRING to Notice to Mariners No. 4 of 1913, mariners and
others are hereby notified that the South Woody Point
beacon, consisting of a single pile with circular top-mark,
the whole painted black, has disappeared, and will be re-
placed as early as possible.
Shoal at Entrance to Cunninghame Arm, Gippsland Lakes
Entrance.
Referring to Notice to Mariners No. 6 of 1913, mariners
and others are hereby notified that the sand-knoll which has
developed in mid-channel, at the entrance to Cunninghame
Arm, is now growing in the form of an extensive spit towards
the Bullock Island white light.
The navigable channel through such entrance is now only
100 ft. wide from the inner end of the Eastern Pier.

JAPAN.
Kannon-zaki Lighted Buoy remoored.
REFERRING to Notice to Mariners No. 151 of 1912, notice is
hereby given that Kannon-zaki lighted buoy on southerly
water of Kannon-zaki-machi, Shimonoseki City, withdrawn
temporarily has been remoored as before.
Restoration of Intensity of Light at Satamisaki.
Notice is hereby given that the candlepower of the light
of Satamisaki, on the small rock island, south point of Pro-
vince of Osumi, which was reduced during the repair of
illuminating apparatus, is shown as formerly.

Notice to Mariners No. 14 of 1913.
AUCKLAND HARBOUR LIGHT AT ST. HELIER'S BAY WHARF.

Wellington, N.Z., 25th January, 1913.
REFERRING to Notice to Mariners No. 15 of 1912, the
Auckland Harbour Board has further notified that the
unwatched 500 c.p. Lux light having been found unsatis-
factory through frequently being put out by the vibration
of the wharf when steamers are working alongside, it has
been removed and a 50 c.p. white light, dioptric lens, has
been substituted in its place. The new light should be
visible for a distance of about 5 miles.

Notice to Mariners No. 15 of 1913.
TELEGRAPH CABLE ACROSS PORT HARDY, D'URVILLE ISLAND

Wellington, N.Z., 25th January, 1913.
NOTICE is hereby given that a telegraph cable has been
laid across the harbour of Port Hardy from the head
of East Arm opposite the Maori Village marked on Chart
No. 2684 to the western head of the South Arm. The
accompanying chartlet shows position of the cable and
landings.

The cable is laid close to the north shore in the East Arm,
but crosses the mouth of the South Arm. Masters of vessels
are cautioned against anchoring in the vicinity of the cable.

Revocation of Appointment of Bonding Warehouse.
CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the authority in me for this
purpose vested, I, the Minister of Customs, do, by
this order under my hand, revoke and annul the appoint-
ment of the undermentioned warehouse for the reception
and security of goods entered to be warehoused without
payment of duty upon the first entry thereof, namely,—
Port of Auckland.
The warehouse known as
NATHAN'S BOND
as appointed and described in Minister's Order No. 1012, of
the 24th day of July, 1912.
Given under my hand, at Wellington, this 21st day of
January, 1913.

Approving and appointing a Bonding Warehouse.
CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the powers in me for this
purpose vested by the Customs Law Act, 1908, I,
the Minister of Customs, do hereby approve and appoint
the undermentioned warehouse to be a warehouse for the
reception of goods under bond, namely:—
Port of Auckland.
A brick building, roofed with iron, situated in Commerce
Street, on Allotments Nos. 8, 29, and 30, Section No. 2,
City of Auckland, to be known as
NATHAN'S BOND.
Given under my hand, at Wellington, this 21st day of
January, 1913.
