Notice respecting Proposed Alteration in Boundaries of City of Auckland.

PURSUANT to section 118 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that a petition, in accordance with regulations, signed by not less than one-fourth of the electors of the area described in the Schedule hereto, has been presented to him, praying that the said area may be excluded from the County of Eden and included in the City of Auckland. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration within one month from the first publication of this notice. Such objections or petitions are to be addressed and forwarded to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
AREA PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE CITY OF AUCKLAND.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the north-west by the Borough of Grey Lynn from the north-western corner of Allotment No. 20 of Section No. 7 of the Suburbs of Auckland, Waitemata Survey District, to the City of Auckland; thence towards the north-east by the said City of Auckland to the northernmost corner of Allotment No. 4 of Section No. 5 of the suburbs aforesaid; thence towards the south-east and south by the south-eastern and southern boundary-lines of Section No. 7 aforesaid to a point in line with the north-western boundary-line of Allotment No. 20 aforesaid; and thence towards the west by a right line to and by that boundary-line to the place of commencement.

CERTIFICATE OF CONFIRMATION.
IN pursuance of the By-laws Act, 1910, I hereby confirm the within-written by-laws, regulating heavy traffic and regulating the transport of engines, traction-engines, and machines and the use of bullocks as traction animals, and declare that the same came into force on the 17th day of September, 1912.

THE following special order, made by the Epsom Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Road Boards Act, 1908.

EPSOM ROAD BOARD.
WHEREAS the body corporate of the Inhabitants of the Epsom Road District, called the Epsom Road Board, is satisfied that the use of motors, as hereinafter defined, upon the roads in the said Epsom Road District under the control or management of the said body corporate is attended with risk to the safety of the public: Now, therefore, the said body corporate, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by the Road Boards Act, 1908, the Motor Regulation Act, 1908, the Public Works Act, 1908, and the various Acts amending the same respectively, and all other Acts and powers it thereunto enabling, doth hereby make and ordain by special order the following by-laws to come into force on the date of the gazetting of the said special order :—

In these by-laws the word “motor” shall have the same meaning as is assigned to it by the Motor Regulation Act, 1908, and its amendments.

No person shall use, drive, or propel, or cause to be used, driven, or propelled, on, along, or upon any road within the Epsom Road District or any road under the control or management of the said body corporate, any motor at a greater speed than sixteen miles an hour, and when turning any corner in any of the said roads the speed of the said motor shall be reduced to four miles an hour.
