Opening Settlement Land in Otago Land District for Selection.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Tuesday, the eleventh day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts:

IMPROVEMENTS.
The fencing, which is valued at £18 8s. 6d., is included in the capital value of the land.
DESCRIPTION.
Mixed agricultural and pastoral land; part in old pasture, part in native tussock. The agricultural land is of good quality, and the tussock land, though broken and stony in places, is good grazing-country, being warm and sheltered. There is permanent water on the section. The altitude varies from 400 ft. to 1,200 ft. Access is by good formed and gravelled road from Waipahi, distant three miles, where there is a post and telegraph office and school; or by formed road, half a mile, to Conical Hills Railway-station.

Opening Lands in Hawke’s Bay Land District for Sale or Selection.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Wednesday, the ninth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

There are about 70 acres of fairly heavy bush on this section, principally tawa and rimu; the balance of the area is in fern, with small patches of grass through it. The land varies from undulating to broken country, with fairly good soil, resting on clay and papa subsoil, with patches of pumice on the fern country. Situated nineteen miles and a half from Frasertown by dray-road, and four miles back from the Waikaremoana—Wairoa coach-road by a dray-road.
WOODVILLE COUNTY.—WOODVILLE SURVEY DISTRICT.

Altitude, 500 ft. to 877 ft. above sea-level. Pastoral land, comprising high and somewhat broken land; well watered; all bush, with the exception of about 90 acres along the road-frontage, which has been burnt, and more or less overgrown with fern and scrub. There are a few rimu-trees on the southern ends of the sections, the balance of the bush comprising hinau, tawa, maire, rewarewa, and scrub. Soil fair, resting on clay and papa formation, with outcrop of limestone. Situated three miles and three-quarters from Woodville by good metalled road.
