A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of section nineteen of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1910, a petition was presented to the Governor praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto be constituted a new borough: And whereas the provisions of the said section nineteen have been complied with in respect thereto, and the result of the poll taken on the proposal contained in the said petition was in favour thereof:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1910, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be constituted a borough under the said Acts on and from the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen; that the name of such borough shall be the Borough of Takapuna; that the said borough shall be an undivided borough; and that the number of Councillors to be elected thereto shall be nine, exclusive of the Mayor:
And I do further proclaim and declare that Alick Merriott Pickford, of Auckland, shall be the Returning Officer to conduct the first election of Mayor and Councillors of the said borough; and that the said Alick Merriott Pickford shall be the Town Clerk and the person to prepare the district electors roll for the purposes of the said first election:
And, lastly, I do proclaim and declare that the first election of Mayor and Councillors of the said borough shall be held on Wednesday, the twenty-seventh day of August, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen; and that the first meeting of the Council of the said borough shall be held on Monday, the first day of September, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, at half-past seven o'clock in the afternoon, at the Takapuna Bowling Club's Pavilion, Takapuna.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District bounded towards the north-west generally by the southern side of Archer Road from the northernmost corner of Allotment No. 6 of Section No. 102, Parish of Takapuna, to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 104, Parish of Takapuna; thence across Archer Road to the south-western corner of Section No. 12; thence by the northern side of the road forming the southern boundary of that section; thence across that road and by the north-western boundary of Section No. 3, Parish of Takapuna, to Gordon Avenue; thence by the north-western side of Gordon Avenue to and across Beaconsfield Road; thence by the north-eastern side of that road to Sea View Road; thence by the north-western side of Sea View Road to a stream which crosses that road at the westernmost corner of Allotment No. 25 of Section No. 5, Parish of Takapuna; thence by that stream and by high-water mark of the Wairau Stream to the south-eastern corner of Allotment No. 23 of Section No. 5 aforesaid; thence towards the east generally by a right line across the mouth of the said Wairau Stream, and by Hauraki Gulf to the Borough of Devonport; thence towards the south generally by the Borough of Devonport, and high-water mark of Ngataringa Bay to O'Neill Point; thence towards the west generally by high-water mark of Shoal Bay to the south-western corner of Section
