Notice to Mariners No. 59 of 1913.
AUCKLAND HARBOUR.--DREDGING IN MECHANICS BAY.

THE Auckland Harbour Board have notified that dredger No. 121 is now working approximately 700 ft. north of the gap in the Mechanics Bay wall, and has six mooring-chains and anchors laid out in N.S.E. and W. directions, and masters of vessels are cautioned not to anchor within 400 ft. of the dredger.

VICTORIA.
New Light.--Wilson's Promontory.
REFERRING to General Notice to Mariners, Victoria, dated 1st August, 1907, page 107, and to subsequent notices regarding alterations to Wilson's Promontory light, mariners and others are hereby notified that the new light will be exhibited on and from 1st May, 1913.
The characteristics of the light are as follows :-White, dioptric, group flashing, showing four flashes in quick succession every fifteen seconds-thus, flash 1 second, eclipse 2 seconds ; flash 1 second, eclipse 2 seconds ; flash 1 second, eclipse 2 seconds ; flash 1 second, eclipse 8 seconds.
Power, 189,000 candles ; visible in clear weather, 27 nautical miles ; arc of visibility unaltered ; height of focal plane above high water, 381 ft.
Upon the exhibition of the new light the temporary fixed light will be discontinued.
