Resuming Land for a Site for a Public School in Ohakune Village Settlement, Wellington Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and forty-four of the Land Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor in Council may by Proclamation resume possession of any land leased under Part III of the said Act, or under any corresponding Part of the Land Act, 1892, which in his opinion is required for any public purpose:

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto is held under renewable lease from His Majesty the King under Part III of the Land Act, 1908, dated the fifth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and eight:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, the said land is required for a public purpose—that is to say, for a site for a public school:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby proclaim and declare that I hereby resume possession of the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto for the public purpose hereinbefore mentioned, the same being held under renewable lease as aforesaid.

SCHEDULE.

All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, being Section 37, Ohakune Village Settlement. Bounded towards the north-west by Pakau Street, 800 links; towards the north-east by Section 36, Ohakune Village Settlement, 1250 links; towards the south-east by Sections 59 and 41 of said settlement, 800 links; and towards the south-west by Section 38, 1250 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1673/10, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and thirteen.

Additional Land at Poukawa taken for the Purposes of the Wellington-Napier Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Wellington-Napier Railway to take further land at Poukawa, in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections twenty-nine and one hundred and eighty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes above mentioned.
