Constituting the Town District of Rangataua, in the County of Waimarino.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it is enacted by the Town Boards Act, 1908, that the Governor may declare that any locality outside a borough wherein there are not less than fifty householders shall be a town district :

And whereas a petition has been presented to the Governor by the inhabitants within the area mentioned and described in the Schedule hereto, praying that such area may be constituted a town district under the Town Boards Act, 1908 :

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the Town Boards Act, 1908, and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the said area shall be a town district, and the same is hereby constituted a town district, under the Town Boards Act, 1908, by the name of the Rangataua Town District; and, in further pursuance and exercise of the said powers, I do hereby proclaim, declare, and appoint that the Board of Commissioners for the said district shall consist of seven members.

SCHEDULE.

RANGATAUA TOWN DISTRICT.

All that area in the Wellington Land District bounded towards the north-east by Section No. 7, Block V, Karioi Survey District, from the south-eastern side of the Mangateitei Road to the right bank of the Mangaehuehue Stream; towards the east by the said bank of that stream to the north-eastern side of the Ohakune-Waiouru Road; towards the south-west by the said side of that road to the south-east side of the Mangateitei Road aforesaid; and towards the north-west by the said side of the last-mentioned road, across a public road, across a railway reserve, and again by the aforementioned side of the Mangateitei Road to the place of commencement.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-first day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and thirteen.

Lands reserved under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), a Scenery Preservation Board is constituted, and it is enacted that such Board shall, when so directed by the Minister charged for the time being with the administration of the said Act, inspect any lands possessing scenic or historic interest, or on which there are thermal springs, and make inquiries respecting the same, and report to the Governor; and shall from time to time recommend what lands, whether Crown or private, shall be permanently reserved as scenic, thermal, or historic reserves: And whereas the said Board was duly directed to inspect and report on the lands described in the Schedule hereunder, and has recommended that the said lands should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:

ERRATUM.—In the fifth line of the Schedule to the Proclamation taking land for the purposes of a road in Blocks V, IX, and X, Hapuakohe Survey District, Waikato County, published in Gazette No. 33, page 1357, of 17th April, 1913, for “Blocks X and IX” read “Blocks V and IX.”
