Resolution made by the Council of the County of Kaitieke.

THE following resolution, made by the Kaitieke County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Amendment Act, 1912.

KAITIEKE COUNTY COUNCIL.

Striking Special Rate.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, the Kaitieke County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £300, authorized to be raised by the Kaitieke County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, for forming present Hikumutu Track into dray-road, the said Kaitieke County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 4d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Hikumutu Special-rating Area, comprising Section 11, Block IV, Hunua; Sections 24, 25, Block IX, Hunua; Section 5, Block VIII, Hunua; Section 6, Block VIII, Hunua; and part Section 7, Block VIII, Hunua Survey District: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

THE following resolution, made by the Akaroa County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Amendment Act, 1912.

AKAROA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Resolution striking Special Rate.

WHEREAS the Akaroa County Council has been authorized by the ratepayers to borrow £1,200 for the purpose of completing the Flat Road, wharf, and shed at Onawe Peninsula, between Duvauchelle and Barry’s Bay, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Board has provisionally approved the application for such loan at the rate of £3 15s. per centum per annum: And whereas the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Office Superintendent is unable to advance such loan (namely, £1,200) at the said rate of interest, but can advance the same at the rate of £4 2s. 6d. per centum per annum:

Now, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, the Akaroa County Council hereby resolves: That, for the purpose of providing moneys sufficient to cover the increased payments in respect of such loan (namely, £1,200), the said Akaroa County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 4/35 of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Onawe Flat Road, Wharf, and Shed Special-rating Area. The boundaries of the said special-rating area are as follows:—

Commencing on the one-chain reserve above high-water mark, at the south-east corner of Rural Section 2114; thence north-easterly by the south-east boundary of said section to the Old Okain’s Road; thence north-easterly by that road to its junction with the New Okain’s Road at the north-east corner of Rural Section 9481; thence following the New Okain’s Road to its junction with the Summit Road; thence in a generally westerly direction following the boundary-lines dividing the Akaroa and Wainui Road District on the one side, and the Okain’s Bay and Pigeon Bay Road Districts on the other side, to the Purau Track on the Old Pigeon Bay Saddle; thence in a westerly direction following the Summit Road to its junction with the main Little River coach-road at the north-west corner of Rural Section 14417; thence southward by the boundary-line dividing the Akaroa and Wainui Road District and the Wairewa County to the north-west corner of Rural Section 21799; thence southerly by the western boundary of that section to the road known as Wilson’s Road; thence southerly by that road to the south-west corner of Rural Section 21421; thence north-easterly by the south boundary of that section to Rural Section 20212; thence southerly by the western boundary of that section to its south-west corner; thence easterly by the southern boundary of Rural Sections 20212, 12138, and 9990 to the south-east corner of the last-named section; thence northerly by the eastern boundary of Rural Section 9990 to Rural Section 10088; thence easterly by the southern boundary of Rural Section 10088 to the north-west corner of Rural Section 7418; thence southerly by the western boundary of that section to its south-west corner; thence easterly along the southern boundary of Rural Section 7418 to its south-east corner; thence northerly by its eastern boundary to the southern boundary of Rural Section 5216; thence easterly by that boundary to the south-east corner of Rural Section 5216; thence northerly to the south-west corner of Rural Section 5215; thence easterly by the southern boundary of that section to the Old French Farm Road; thence northerly by that road to the south-west corner of Rural Section 4561; thence easterly by the southern boundary of that section to the one-chain reserve above high-water mark; and thence by that reserve, and including Rural Sections 728 and 26442 on the Onawe Peninsula, to the starting-point.

And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until such loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Akaroa County Council at a meeting held on the 26th day of April, 1913.

OPOTIKI COUNTY COUNCIL.

Upper Wai-oeka Special-rating Loan of £4,000, 1913.—Resolution.

Moved by Councillor W. McLean.—In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, the Opotiki County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a special loan of £4,000, authorized to be raised under the above-mentioned Acts, and with the consent of the ratepayers of the Upper Wai-oeka Special-rating District, testified by a petition signed by not less than three-fourths of the ratepayers of the said rating district the capital value of whose properties is collectively greater than the capital value of the properties of the ratepayers who did not so consent, for the purpose of formation of the Wai-oeka River main road from the end of present formation to the Opata Creek, within the Upper Wai-oeka Special-rating District, the said Opotiki County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 2d. in the pound upon the rateable valuation (on the basis of the unimproved value) of the rateable property of the Upper Wai-oeka Special-rating District, being all that area in the Upper Wai-oeka Riding of the County of Opotiki bounded commencing at the south-western corner of Section 4, Block II, Wai-oeka Survey District; towards the north proceeding in an easterly direction by the northern boundary of Tahora No. 2n 2 Block and Oamaru No. 2n Block to the western bank of the Tutaetoko Stream; thence towards the east generally proceeding in a southerly direction along the said western bank of said Tutaetoko Stream and branch stream
