REGULATIONS.

  1. RED DEER (stags only) may be taken or killed within the Southland Acclimatization District, exclusive of all sanctuaries, from the Ist day of May, 1913, to the 31st day of May, 1913, both days inclusive.

  2. Licenses to take or kill such deer may be issued by the Chief Postmaster at Invercargill on payment of a license fee of £5 5s., in the form prescribed in the Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Act and these regulations; provided that not more than one such license shall be issued to the same person.

  3. No licensee shall take or kill more than four stags, and no stag shall be killed carrying antlers with less than ten points.

  4. No hind or fawn shall be taken or killed on any pretext whatever, and no licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either himself or any attendant he may have with him.

  5. Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing any person to sell any deer or portion thereof.

  6. Any person committing a breach of any of these regulations shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding £20.

, of , having this day paid the sum of £5 5s., is hereby authorized to take or kill four deer (stags) of not less than ten points, within the Southland Acclimatization District, exclusive of all sanctuaries, from the day of , 1913, to the day of , 1913 (both days inclusive), subject to the provisions of the Animals Protection Act, 1908, and all regulations thereunder in force within the said district.

Mallard Duck turned at large in the Rotorua Acclimatization District declared to be vested in the Minister in Charge of Department of Tourist and Health Resorts.

Wellington, 29th April, 1913.

HIS Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that the Department of Tourist and Health Resorts has turned at large a number of mallard duck in the Rotorua Acclimatization District, being a district administered by the said Department, and that the property in such mallard duck and their offspring, and in every bird of a like species at large in that acclimatization district, is deemed to be vested in the Minister for the time being in charge of the said Department of Tourist and Health Resorts for a period of three years from the date hereof, as provided by section 56 of the Animals Protection Act, 1908.

Arrangements for First Election, Uapoto Drainage District.

Wellington, 29th April, 1913.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint FRANK FORSYTH THOMPSON, of Taupiri, to be Returning Officer for the purpose of conducting the first election of five members of the Board of Trustees of the Uapoto Drainage District as constituted under the Land Drainage Act, 1908; also to appoint Saturday, the 17th day of May, 1913, to be the date, and the residence of Messrs. Oldfield Brothers at Taupiri to be the place, for holding such election; also to appoint Monday, the 19th day of May, 1913, at one o'clock in the afternoon, to be the day and the hour, and the said residence of Messrs. Oldfield Brothers at Taupiri to be the place, at which the first meeting of trustees shall be held.
