Palmerston North - Kairanga River District, County of Kai-
ranga, and Borough of Palmerston North constituted.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the River Boards Act, 1908 (herein-
after termed "the said Act"), as amended by the River
Boards Amendment Act, 1910, I, Arthur William de Brito
Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of
New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and
after the date hereof, that part of the said Dominion described
in the First Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby
constituted a district under the said Act, and shall be known
by the name of the Palmerston North - Kairanga River Dis-
trict; and that the said district shall be divided into two
subdivisions, to be called the Palmerston North Subdivision
and the Kairanga Subdivision, the boundaries whereof shall
be those described in the Second Schedule hereto; and,
further, that the number of members who are to constitute
the Board of the said district shall be five, and that three
members shall be elected for the Palmerston North Sub-
division and two members for the Kairanga Subdivision.

And I do also proclaim and declare that William Harold
Collingwood, of Palmerston North, shall be the Returning
Officer to conduct the first elections of each subdivision of
the aforesaid district; that Wednesday, the eleventh day of
June, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, shall be the
day for holding such first elections; and that Wednesday,
the eighteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and
thirteen, at twelve o'clock noon, shall be the time, and the
Palmerston North Borough Council Chambers shall be the
place, at which the first meeting of the members of the Board
of the said river district shall be held.

And, lastly, I do proclaim and declare that the aforesaid
William Harold Collingwood shall be the person to make a
roll of electors for the purposes of the aforesaid first elections,
in the manner prescribed by section eight of the said Act.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

PALMERSTON NORTH - KAIRANGA RIVER DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded to-
wards the north-west by Boundary Road from the western-
most corner of the Borough of Palmerston North to Te Matai
A

Road; thence towards the north-east by Te Matai Road to
the Manawatu River; thence by a right line to the western-
most corner of Section No. 236, Block XII, Kairanga Survey
District; thence by that section to Section No. 301, Block
XVI; thence towards the south-east by the last-mentioned
section to the Palmerston North - Pahiatua Road, across that
road, by Section No. 290, Block XVI, and Section No. 266,
Block XV, to the Manawatu Bridge Road, across that road,
by the road forming the north-western boundaries of Sections
Nos. 255, 287, and 286, and by Sections Nos. 285 and 256 to
Section No. 177; thence towards the south-west by the last-
mentioned section, across Fitzherbert Road West, by Sec-
tions Nos. 192 and 193, Block XV aforesaid, across River-
bank Road, and by Section No. 199, Block XIV, Kairanga
Survey District, to its northernmost corner; thence by a
right line across the Manawatu River to the south-western
corner of the Borough of Palmerston North; and thence by
the south-western boundary of that borough to Boundary
Road, the place of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

PALMERSTON NORTH SUBDIVISION.

All that area in the Wellington Land District bounded to-
wards the north-west by Boundary Road from the western-
most corner of the Borough of Palmerston North to its
northernmost corner; and thence towards the north-east,
south-east, and south-west by the north-eastern, south-
eastern, and south-western boundaries of the said Borough
of Palmerston North to the place of commencement.

KAIRANGA SUBDIVISION.

All that area bounded towards the north-west by Boundary
Road from the northernmost corner of the Borough of Pal-
merston North to Te Matai Road; thence towards the north-
east by Te Matai Road to the Manawatu River; thence by
a right line to the westernmost corner of Section No. 236,
Block XII, Kairanga Survey District; thence by that section
to Section No. 301, Block XVI; thence towards the south-
east by the last-mentioned section to the Palmerston North-
Pahiatua Road, across that road, by Section No. 290, Block
XVI, and Section No. 266, Block XV, to the Manawatu
Bridge Road, across that road, by the road forming the north-
western boundaries of Sections Nos. 255, 287, and 286, and
by Sections Nos. 285 and 256 to Section No. 177; thence
towards the south-west by the last-mentioned section, across
