Approving and appointing Bonded Tobacco-manufactory.
IN pursuance of the powers in me for this purpose vested by the Tobacco Act, 1908, I, the Acting Minister of Customs, do hereby approve and appoint the undermentioned building or premises as a manufactory in which tobacco may be manufactured prior to the payment of duty thereon :—
A wooden building, roofed with corrugated iron, situated on Section 125, Victoria Street, Hamilton, to be known as CHOCQUEEL’S TOBACCO-FACTORY.
Given under my hand, at Wellington, this 4th day of April, 1913.

Notice to Mariners No. 41 of 1913.
TELEPHONE CABLES IN PORT NICHOLSON.

NOTICE is hereby given that telephone cables have been laid in Port Nicholson approximately as follows :—
-
From about 1 cable south of Point Jerningham across Evans Bay to a point about 1 cable south of Point Halswell.
-
From Point Gordon to a point about 50 yards shore side of tide-guage at Point Dorset.
Masters of vessels and others, especially yachts and fishing-boats, are cautioned against anchoring in the vicinity of these cables.

NEW SOUTH WALES.
Port of Newcastle.—Conversion of Fixed White Light at Nobby’s Lighthouse into an Occulting Light.
NOTICE is hereby given that on and after Tuesday, the 1st April, 1913, the fixed white light hitherto shown at Nobby’s Lighthouse, at the entrance to the Port of Newcastle, will be converted into an occulting light.
The light will show a flash of twelve seconds, followed by an eclipse of three seconds.

Public Service Board of Appeal.—Notice of Election of Member of Board as Representative of the Officers of the Telegraph Branch of the Post and Telegraph Department.
THERE being only one member of the Board to be elected by the officers of the Telegraph Branch of the Post and Telegraph Department, and only one nomination having been received by me, I hereby declare the officer so nominated—viz.,

an officer of the Telegraph Department at Auckland, to be duly elected and to be a member of the Board of Appeal provided for under section 32 of the Public Service Act, 1912.

The Patents, Designs, and Trade-marks Act, 1911.—Application for Restoration of Lapsed Patent under Section 22.
NOTICE is hereby given that John Charles Snelling, formerly of 6 Crusoe Road, Mitcham, in the County of Surrey, England, now of 10 Crieff Road, Wandsworth, Surrey aforesaid, has made application for restoration of the patent granted to him for “An improved machine for producing slabs for building purposes,” numbered 26249, and bearing date the 22nd July, 1908, which expired on the 22nd July, 1912, owing to the non-payment of the prescribed renewal fee.
Any person may, or or before the 17th June, 1913, give notice at the Patent Office of opposition to the restoration.
Such notice must be in duplicate, in the prescribed form, set forth the particular grounds of objection, and be accompanied by a stamp for the fee of 10s.

Notice to make Returns of Land under the Land and Income Assessment Act, 1908, and the Land and Income Assessment Amendment Act, 1912.

NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of the above Acts and the regulations made thereunder, every person and company within the meaning of the said Acts, being owner of land in New Zealand, or being the holder or owner of any mortgage or mortgages of land in New Zealand, is hereby required to make and furnish to me, in the prescribed form, returns of such land and mortgages as at 12 o’clock noon on the 31st day of March, 1913.
And further notice is hereby given that such returns shall in all cases be delivered at or forwarded to the office of the Commissioner of Taxes, in the Government Buildings, at Wellington, on or before the 1st day of May, 1913.

SPECIAL NOTE.—Any person failing to furnish a return at the prescribed time is liable to a penalty of not less than £2 nor more than £100.
