Regulations for Deer-shooting, Wairca.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby make the following regulations prescribing the deer-shooting season in that part of the Rotorua Acclimatization District comprised in the part of the County of Wairoa (excluding therefrom the Mahia Peninsula) which is in the said acclimatization district, and the conditions affecting the same, and also the form of license and the fee payable therefor.
REGULATIONS.

RED-DEER stags may be taken or killed within the above-mentioned part of the Rotorua Acclimatization District from the 7th April, 1913, to the 5th May, 1913 (both days inclusive).

Licenses to take or kill such deer may be issued by the Postmaster at Wairoa, on payment of a license fee of £3, in the form prescribed in the Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Act and these regulations. The number of such licenses shall not exceed five; provided that not more than one such license shall be issued to the same person.

No licensee shall take or kill more than two stags, and no stag shall be killed carrying antlers with less than ten points.

No hind or fawn shall be taken or killed on any pretext whatever; and no licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either himself or any attendant he may have with him.

Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing any person to sell any deer or portion thereof.

Any person committing a breach of any of these regulations shall be liable, on conviction, to a fine not exceeding £20.

Lands temporarily reserved in Block III, Alton Survey District, Southland Land District.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in the Southland Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be temporarily reserved.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 9 acres and 2 roods, more or less, being Section 70 of Block III, Alton Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Section 92, 1000 links; towards the south-east by Section 92 aforesaid, 1000 links; towards the south-west by Section 1, 1000 links; and towards the north-west by a road, 400 links, by Section 71, 250 links, 200 links, and 250 links, and again by the said road, 400 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 4020/1A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. For a public recreation-ground.
Also all that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or less, being Section 71 of Block III, Alton Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east, south-east, and south-west by Section 70, 250 links, 200 links, and 250 links respectively; and towards the north-west by a road, 200 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 4020/1B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. For a site for a mechanics’ institute and athenæum.

Bounded towards the north-east by Keswick Street, 164 links; towards the south-east by Derwent Street, 53 links; towards the south-west by Section 2 of aforesaid block, 122·8 links; and towards the north-west by part of Section 28 of said block, 109 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 48711/10, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
