Opening Lands in Southland Land District for Sale or Selection.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Tuesday, the twenty-fifth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

Altitude, about 65 ft. above sea-level. From half to two-thirds fair to good soil; remainder peat, mostly flat land with swamp through it, suitable for pastoral and dairying purposes. Situated from two to ten miles by surveyed road from Timpany's Siding, Waimatua Post-office about two miles further. Sections are well watered, except Section 66, Block IX, which is indifferently watered by swampy lagoons.
Section 68, Block IX.—About two-thirds fair land, remainder peat, two small patches of bush of no commercial value on eastern boundary. Situated five miles and a half from Timpany's Siding.
Sections 63 to 66, Block IX.—About half old sawmill-workings, partly burnt. Soil fair to good; remainder inferior peat with manuka scrub. Situated two to four miles from Timpany's Siding.
Sections 8, 9, 10, Block X.—About two-thirds fair to good land; remainder inferior peat and moss, covered with manuka scrub; small patches of bush on eastern boundary of no commercial value. Situated seven miles and a half to ten miles from Timpany's Siding.

Altitude, about 65 ft. above sea-level. Has all been bush, now old sawmill-workings, mostly burnt off; level land, suitable for pastoral purposes, including dairying. Good soil; well watered. Situated five miles and a half by surveyed road from Timpany's Siding and seven miles and a half from Waimatua Post-office.
Similar to Section 80, except that bush is mostly standing instead of being burnt off.

Opening National Endowment Lands in Auckland Land District for Selection.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the national endowment lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Tuesday, the twenty-fifth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.

Altitude, 50 ft. to 500 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to hilly land; about one-third mixed forest comprising kahikatea, rimu, rata, totara, tanekaha, tawa, taraire, &c., with thick undergrowth of mahoe, kohutuhutu, nikau, punga, toikiwi, kiekie, supplejack, &c.; balance burnt kauri workings, now in manuka, fern, toikiwi, &c. Soil a sandy clay of fair quality, on sandstone formation; indifferently watered by small stream. Situated five miles and a half from Whangape, five miles of which is by tidal water, balance 10 ft. formed road.
Altitude, 10 ft. to 450 ft. above sea-level. Undulating to hilly and broken land; about 25 acres manuka and fern; balance mixed forest comprising rimu, kahikatea, totara, puriri, tawa, taraire, tanekaha, kohekohe, rewarewa, &c., with dense undergrowth of kohutuhutu, mahoe, koihere, nikau, punga, kiekie, toikiwi, supplejack, &c. Soil sandy clay of good quality, on sandstone formation. Section 6 well watered by streams, but no permanent water on Section 5. Situated five miles from Whangape by tidal water.
