or flax. The right to take any roads or tramlines that may be required during the currency of the licenses is reserved.
At all times during the currency of the licenses Government officers and employees shall have full and free right of ingress, egress, and regress for the purposes of survey, roadmaking, or other public business, and a similar right of access is reserved to the public for the purpose of inspecting the runs during the period of eighteen months immediately prior to expiration of licenses.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned reserves will be offered for lease by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, Hokitika, at 2.30 o’clock p.m. on Wednesday, the 26th day of February, 1913, under the provisions of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, and amendment.

SCHEDULE.
WESTLAND LAND DISTRICT.

Situated on the main South Road to the north of the Wanganui River, thirty-six miles south of Ross, the terminus of the railway, and one mile from Hende’s Ferry Post and Telephone Office. There is a cheese-factory about six miles and a half distant. The reserve comprises about 50 acres flat land, covered with bush, principally ribbonwood; remainder terrace land, carrying mixed bush of birch and scattered pines.

Situated on the main South Road, on the south side of the Waiho River, about 20 chains from Waiho Gorge Post and Telephone Office. Access from Ross, the terminus of the railway, is by good metalled dray-road, a distance of seventy-six miles. The reserve comprises about 160 acres flat land covered with heavy mixed bush, and 40 acres of steep terraces carrying bush of birch and rata. Soil generally stony.

ABSTRACT OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF LEASE.

1. One year’s rent at the rate bid, together with £2 2s. lease fee, to be deposited on the fall of the hammer.

2. Possession will be given on the day of sale.

3. Term of lease is twenty-one years, with right of renewal for one further period of twenty-one years.

4. The lease is subject to termination by the Governor at any time after twelve months’ notice.

5. On the expiry or termination of the lease as provided in clause 4, the lessee will be entitled to compensation for improvements, valued by arbitration.

6. No conditions are imposed as to residence or improvements.

7. Rent is payable half-yearly, in advance.

8. Lessee to have no right to dispose of his interest in the lease without the written consent of the Commissioner of Crown Lands.

9. Lessee to prevent the growth and spread of noxious weeds.

10. Lessee to pay all rates, taxes, and other assessments.

11. Accommodation to be provided for travelling stock at the rate of 1d. per head per night for sheep, and 3d. per head per night for cattle.

12. Lease liable to forfeiture if conditions not fulfilled within thirty days after the date the same ought to be fulfilled.
