I, WILLIAM HENRY SKINNER, Returning Officer for the election of a member of the Marlborough Land Board, do hereby notify, in accordance with section 41 of the Land Act, 1908, and the regulations thereunder, the result of the poll taken by me on the 16th day of December, 1912, for the election of a member of the Marlborough Land Board to be as follows:—

I HEREBY notify that the election of a member of the Grey Board of Education, representing the Eastern Ward thereof, to fill the extraordinary vacancy caused by the decease of the Honourable James Marshall, resulted as follows:—

Notice of Appointment of District Manager to the Public Trustee at Christchurch.

IT is hereby notified for general information that Mr. GEORGE ALEXANDER SMYTH has been appointed District Manager to the Public Trustee at Christchurch, as from the 1st January, 1913, vice Mr. Michael Clyde Barnett transferred.

Notice by the Public Trustee under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II).

To the owner of the following land, that is to say: All the undivided moiety or half-share in all that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 8 perches, more or less, being Section 16, Block 79, on the record-map of the Town of Oamaru. Bounded towards the north-west by Severn Street, 200 links; towards the north-east by Severn Street, 45 links; towards the east by Greta Street, 200 links; towards the south by Section 15, 127 links; and towards the south-west by Section 17, 127 links. The last registered owner of the above half-share is George William Quayle, of Dunedin, Settler, who cannot now be traced.
WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries, and has not thereby ascertained who the owner of the above-described land is, and believes that such owner is not in the Dominion:
Now, the Public Trustee hereby calls upon such owner, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his title to the said land; and if he fails or neglects so to do, the Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II).

Bonus for the Production of Quicksilver.

Mines Department, Wellington, 18th April, 1912.
NOTICE is hereby given that a bonus of fourpence (4d.) per pound will be paid on the production of the first one hundred thousand pounds weight (100,000 lb.) of good marketable retorted quicksilver, free from all impurities, from any mine in New Zealand, on the following conditions, that is to say:—

  1. That at least one-third of the quantity is produced on or before the 31st March, 1914, and the remaining two-thirds on or before the 31st March, 1915.
  2. No bonus will be payable until the whole of the one hundred thousand pounds (100,000 lb.) of quicksilver has been produced as stipulated to the satisfaction of an officer to be appointed by the Minister of Mines, and on whose certificate alone the bonus will be paid.
  3. In the event of more than one person producing the required quantities of quicksilver before the dates named, inquiry will be made by the officer above referred to, when, if it is found that each applicant is equally entitled to a bonus, the amount will be divided in proportion to the quantities produced by each applicant, but in no case shall any bonus be paid until at least one hundred thousand pounds (100,000 lb.) of quicksilver has been produced in the aggregate.

Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.—Declaration by the Registrar dissolving a Society.

I, ROBERT EDWARD HAYES, Registrar of Incorporated Societies, do hereby declare that, as it has been made to appear to me that the Whangaroa Medical Club is no longer carrying on its operations, and has no assets, the aforesaid society is hereby dissolved in pursuance of section 28 of the Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.
