Land temporarily reserved for a Public Recreation-ground
in Block II, Tutamoe Survey District, Auckland Land
District.

ISLINGTON, Governor.
WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first
section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that
the Governor may from time to time, either by general or
particular description, and whether the same has been
surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwith-
standing that the same may be then held under pastoral
license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required
for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned :
Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder,
Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby
temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Auckland Land
District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for a
public recreation-ground.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by
admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, being Section 12,
Block II, Tutamoe Survey District. Bounded towards the
north-west and north-east by lines 1255 and 1026·6 respec-
tively ; towards the south-east by a line and by Section 11,
Block II, Tutamoe Survey District, 1255 links ; and towards
the south-west by the Raparapahoe Road, 1027·7 links : be
all the aforesaid linkages more or less : as the same is deline-
ated on the plan marked L. and S. 4015/3, deposited in the
Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellin-
ton, and thereon edged red. (Auckland Plan 16740, blue.)
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-eighth day of November, one thou-
sand nine hundred and twelve.

Notifying the Proposed Exchange of Crown Land in the
Southland Land District for other Land.

ISLINGTON, Governor.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and forty-two of
the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that it shall be
lawful for the Governor, whenever he deems it expedient in
the public interest, to grant in fee-simple any area of Crown
land which is subject to the provisions of the said Act in
exchange for the fee-simple of any other land which in his
opinion is of approximately equal value :
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is ex-
pedient to exchange the Crown land described in First
Schedule for the land described in Second Schedule, and
the owner of the land described in the Second Schedule
has agreed to such exchange :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid powers
and authorities, doth hereby declare that it is his intention
to grant in fee-simple the area of Crown land described in
the First Schedule hereto in exchange for the fee-simple of
the area of land described in the Second Schedule.

FIRST SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF CROWN LAND AUTHORIZED TO BE
EXCHANGED.
ALL that parcel of land in the Southland Land District, con-
taining by admeasurement 20 acres, more or less, being Sec-
tion 2 of Block VIII, Centre Hill Survey District. Bounded
towards the north-west by a public road, 1200 links ; towards
the east by Section 20 of Block VIII aforesaid, 2531·7 links ;
towards the south and west by Section 5 of said Block VIII,
590·6 links and 2116·4 links respectively : be all the aforesaid
linkages more or less : as the same is delineated on the plan
marked L. and S. 1912/1302, deposited in the Head Office,
Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon
coloured yellow.

SECOND SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE
THEREFOR.
ALL that parcel of land in the Southland Land District, con-
taining by admeasurement 20 acres, more or less, being Sec-
tion 2 of Block IX, Centre Hill Survey District. Bounded
towards the north by Section 3, Block IX, aforesaid 2447
links ; towards the east by a reservation 1 chain wide ad-
joining the Oreti River ; towards the south by said Section 3,
2947 links ; towards the west by Section 3 aforesaid, 625
links, and by a public road, 100 links : be all the aforesaid
linkages more or less : excepting a strip of land 1 chain wide
intersecting same, which is not included in the aforemen-
tioned area : as the same is delineated on the plan marked
L. and S. 1912/1302, deposited in the Head Office, Depart-
ment of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon
coloured red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-eighth day of November, one thou-
sand nine hundred and twelve.

Changing the Purpose of Portion of a Reserve in the Town of
Shannon, Wellington Land District.

ISLINGTON, Governor.
WHEREAS the provisions and requirements of the
seventh section of the Public Reserves and Domains
Act, 1908, have been duly complied with in respect of the
land described in Part II of the Schedule hereto : And
whereas notices in the Gazette have been duly published for
four consecutive weeks, and laid before Parliament, as pro-
vided by the said section of the said Act : And whereas no
resolution of either House of Parliament has been passed
that such House does not concur in the intention declared in
any such notice :
Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron
Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in
pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities con-
ferred upon me by the Act aforesaid, do hereby change the
specific purpose of the portion of the reserve described in
Part II of the Schedule hereto from that named in Part I
to that named in Part III of the said Schedule.

PART I.
Description and Purpose of Original Reserve.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing
by admeasurement 1 rood, more or less, being Section No. 232,
Town of Shannon.
Set apart as a site for a post and telegraph office by sec-
tion 27 of the Reserves and other Lands Sale, Disposal, and
Enabling and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1901.
PART II.
Description of Portion of Reserve the Purpose of which is
hereby changed.
All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing
by admeasurement 30·3 perches, more or less, being part of
Section No. 232, Town of Shannon. Bounded towards the
north-west by Plimmer Terrace, 75·76 links ; towards the
north-east by the other part of Section No. 232, 250 links :
towards the south-east by Section No. 230, 75·76 links ; and
towards the south-west by Section No. 233, 250 links : be all
the aforesaid linkages more or less : as the same is deline-
ated on the plan marked L. 52152/38, deposited in the Head
Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and
thereon bordered red.
PART III.
Purpose to which Portion of Reserve changed.
Site for a public library and reading-room.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-ninth day of November, one thou-
sand nine hundred and twelve.
