THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

All in the Canterbury Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked and coloured as above mentioned, and deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this eighteenth day of November, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and twelve.

Additional Land in Whangarei Survey District taken for the Purposes of the Kawakawa-Grahamtown Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use, convenience, or enjoyment of the Kawakawa-Grahamtown Railway to take further land in Whangarei Survey District, in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway:

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections twenty-nine and one hundred and eighty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes above mentioned.

Land taken for a Further Portion of the Gisborne-Rotorua Railway, and for Road-diversions in connection therewith.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a further portion of the Gisborne-Rotorua Railway, and for road-diversions in connection therewith:

And whereas all the conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land for the purposes hereinbefore specified have been observed and performed:

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by section one hundred and eighty eight of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for a further portion of the aforesaid line of railway, and for the road-diversions in connection therewith as aforesaid.

After a massive fire destoyed the wooden Parliament complex in 1907, Old Government House (depicted) became the seat of Parliament until 1918. Demolished in 1969 to make way for the Beehive.
