NOTE.—The weather has been cool and unsettled for December. Rain fell on twenty-one days, and the fall was considerably above the average. The prevailing wind was north-westerly. Total bright sunshine, 233 hours 36 minutes, and two sunless days. Mean earth temperatures: 58·7° at 1ft., 57·7° at 3ft. Mean dew-point, 46·7°; mean elastic force of vapour, 0·319 inches; mean relative humidity, 67 per cent.
