VICTORIA.

Wreckage, Snowy River Entrance.

MARINERS and others are hereby notified that it has been reported that the auxiliary launch “Wongrabell” is wrecked and sunk in the middle of the channel at the entrance to Snowy River, and is a danger to shipping.

Pending the removal of the wreck the channel is closed to navigation.

Permit to import Opium.

Department of Trade and Customs,
Wellington, 20th September, 1912.

IT is hereby notified for public information that a permit to import opium in forms which though not suitable for smoking may be made suitable has been granted to the undermentioned person subject to the provisions of the Opium Act, 1908, the Opium Amendment Act, 1910, and the regulations made thereunder :—

Examination-shed appointed.

CUSTOMS.—In exercise of the powers in me for this purpose vested by the Customs Law Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, Francis Marion Bates Fisher, the Minister of Customs, do hereby appoint that the undermentioned building at the Port of Alofi, Niue Island, shall be a place where goods may be deposited for examination on the landing thereof, namely :—

An iron shed with an iron roof situated on the road leading from the jetty at the Boat Channel, Alofi, to the Alofi Main Road.

Given under my hand, at Wellington, this 21st day of September, 1912.

Approving and appointing a Bonded Warehouse.

CUSTOMS.—In pursuance of the powers in me for this purpose vested by the Customs Law Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, I, Francis Marion Bates Fisher, the Minister of Customs, do hereby approve and appoint the undermentioned building to be a King’s Warehouse for the reception of goods under bond, namely :—

Port of Alofi, Niue.

An iron building with iron roof situated on the road leading from the jetty at the Boat Channel, Alofi, to the Alofi Main Road, to be known as

THE KING’S WAREHOUSE AT NIUE ISLAND.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block VII, Punakitere Survey District, for the Purposes of a Native School.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work, to wit, the construction of a Native School in Block VII, Punakitere Survey District, and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Kaikohe, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of such public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and the Scenery Preservation Amendment Act, 1910, to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for scenic purposes. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at French Pass, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the taking thereof, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.
