NOTE.—A month of wet and gloomy weather, precipitation on twenty-one days. The total rainfall was nearly double the average for this month—the wettest July since 1892. Total bright sunshine, 56 hours 28 minutes, and nine sunless days. Frosts occurred on five mornings. The mean earth-temperature at 1 ft. was 47·5°, and 49·4° at 3 ft. Mean dew-point, 43·8°; mean relative humidity, 85 per cent. of saturation; and mean elastic force of vapour, 0·286 inches.
