Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by section one hundred and eighty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1908, and in pursuance and exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle-line of the said portion of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point marked 3 miles 65 chains on the Gisborne-Motu Railway line in Tutae-o-rewhanga Block, Block II, Turanganui Survey District, and proceeding thence in a westerly direction for a distance of about 1 mile 72 chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands, &c.—viz., Tutae-o-rewhanga Block, Section 1 of Matawhero No. 5 or B Block, Block II, Turanganui Survey District; Section 6 of Matawhero C or 6 Block, Blocks I and II, Turanganui Survey District; Sections 29, 20, 21, 22, and 23 of Matawhero C or 6 Block, Matawhero No. 4 Block, Block I, Turanganui Survey District, and terminating at a point in the said Matawhero No. 4 Block marked 1 mile 72 chains; including all adjoining and intervening places, land, reserves, roads, tracks, lakes, rivers, streams, and watercourses; all in the Land District of Hawke’s Bay: as the same is delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 32118, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this ninth day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and twelve.

Declaring the Bank of Portion of the Akitio River to be protected.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it is provided by section one hundred and eighty-three of the Public Works Act, 1908, that where it is desirable for the safety or proper maintenance of any public work to protect the banks of, or to alter or divert, either wholly or partially, any river, the Governor may, by Proclamation publicly notified, declare that the banks of such river shall be so protected or its course so altered or diverted, and thereupon the protection of the banks or the alteration or diversion of such river, stream, or watercourse shall be a public work within the meaning of this Act:
And whereas the Akitio County Council has applied for the issue of a Proclamation in terms of the Public Works Act, 1908, protecting the portion of the western bank of the Akitio River described in the Schedule hereto:
And whereas it is found desirable for the safety and proper maintenance of the Akitio Bridge and the southern approach thereto to protect the portion of the western bank of the Akitio River described in the Schedule hereto:
Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section one hundred and eighty-three of the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Counties Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the portion of the western bank of the Akitio River described in the Schedule hereto is hereby protected, altered, or diverted as required for the proper safety and protection of the Akitio Bridge and the southern approach thereto.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of the western bank of the Akitio River, commencing at the north-east corner of Section 27,
Block V, Waimata South Survey District, and proceeding thence in a southerly direction generally, adjoining the said Section 27, Block V, and part of Section 28, Block VII, Waimata South Survey District, being a distance of about 25 chains; as the said bank is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 32165, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and twelve.

Authorizing the Laying-off of a Street in the Borough of Parnell of a Width less than 66 ft. but not less than 45 ft.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twelfth day of August, 1912.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and seventy-eight of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, it is, inter alia, provided that where the configuration of any borough is such as that within any particular area or areas thereof it is difficult or inexpedient to construct streets of a width of sixty-six feet, as required by the said Act, the Governor may, by Order in Council defining the limits of such particular area or areas, authorize the Council to permit within such area or areas the construction of streets and private streets of a width of less than sixty-six feet, but not less than forty-five feet:
And whereas the configuration of part of the Borough of Parnell is such that within the area described in the Schedule hereto it is inexpedient to construct a street of sixty-six feet in width:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Parnell Borough Council to permit the laying-off of a street of a width less than sixty-six feet, but not less than forty-five feet, within the area described in the Schedule hereto.

ALL that area situated in the Borough of Parnell, being Allotment 14 of Section 4, Suburbs of Auckland; as the said area is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 31513, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon bordered blue.
