JULY 18.] THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE. 2263

Validating Proceedings in connection with a Loan of £7,500 for Hillsborough Riding proposed to be raised by the Heathcote County Council.

ISLINGTON, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixteenth day of July, 1912.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Heathcote County Council lately proposed to raise a loan of seven thousand five hundred pounds under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, for the purpose of carrying out certain road-works in the Hillsborough Riding of the county:

And whereas in the proceedings taken with respect to the raising of the said loan it was clearly stated that the loan was to be raised and the special rate made and levied in respect of the whole of the Hillsborough Riding, but a misdescription was given of the boundaries of the said riding:

And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been misled by such irregularity, and it is expedient to validate the same:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section one hundred and twenty-one of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and section seven of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby validate the said proceedings as if there had been no misdescription in the boundaries of the special-rating area, and doth hereby order and declare that the said rating area shall be and be deemed to be the whole of the Hillsborough Riding of the said county for all intents and purposes of the loan, and that the proceedings in connection with the said loan shall not be called in question by reason only of the irregularity aforesaid.

J. F. ANDREWS,
Clerk of the Executive Council.
