No. 30600.—7th December, 1911.—ENGELBERT SCHWER, of 17 Bellmore Street, Enmore, New South Wales, Master Plumber. Improved interlocking-device of gas and water taps for bath-heaters and the like.
Claims.—(1.) The combination of the interlocking-device with taps for bath-heaters and the like, substantially as described. (2.) The interlocking device consisting of two keys, substantially as described and set forth in the specification.

No. 30603.—17th January, 1911.†—HERBERT ALFRED HUMPHREY, of 38 Victoria Street, Westminster, in the County of London, England, Consulting Engineer. Improvements in methods of compressing gases and utilizing the expansive force thereof.
Claims.—(1.) A method of compressing gases and utilizing the expansive force thereof in which a column of liquid flows freely into an air-vessel, and a column of liquid flows from the air-vessel under action of the expansion of compressed elastic fluid therein, and in which these movements cause the reciprocation of a body of elastic fluid which does work. (2.) A method of utilizing the energy of expansion of an ignited combustible mixture in which a column of liquid is driven outwardly from the place of combustion, and a column of liquid flows inwardly to compress a fresh combustible charge, and in which these movements cause the reciprocation of a body of elastic fluid which does work, substantially as described.

No. 30606.—6th December, 1911.—RICHARD JOHN COTTON, of Waipori, Otago, New Zealand, Mine-owner. An improved bird-frightener.
Claims.—(1.) In devices for frightening birds, &c., a frame resembling a figure balanced on a metal point loosely resting in a hard hollow substance, such as the hollow bottom of an inverted bottle, free to revolve and tilt, covered with such as clothes, and furnished with bells, &c., all substantially as shown on the diagram, and as described and as explained. (2.) In toys, a hollow doll-like figure resting on a pointed pivot within same, and free to tilt and revolve by the said point working on a hollow hard substance, such as a small inverted bottle, all substantially as set forth.

No. 30608.—8th December, 1911.—CLARENCE PERCIVAL WOHLERS, of Winiam, in the State of Victoria, Commonwealth of Australia, Farmer. Improvements in attachments to grain-drills and the like.
Claims.—(1.) In a tine-frame constituting a grain-drill rear attachment, means to move the same laterally to enable elimination or covering of a wheel-track. (2.) In a tine-frame constituting a grain-drill rear attachment, means or connections whereby tilting of the drill-hoes will tilt the said tine-frame. (3.) In a tine-frame constituting a grain-drill rear attachment, single tines, or pairs of tines fixed to rotatable sleeves, upon a spindle or the like, as described.

No. 30613.—8th December, 1911.—ARTHUR WILLINGTON COOPER, of “Lovely Bank,” Ouyen, Farmer, and STEPHEN HENRY WATTS, of Gordon Street, Footscray, Implement-maker, both of Victoria, Australia. Improvements relating to cultivator-shares.
Claims.—(1.) In improvements relating to cultivator-shares, a share having an inclined front cutting-edge and a lower cutting-edge terminating in a point, a back edge and an upper edge to said share, and bolt or rivet holes through said share. . . . (5.) In improvements relating to cultivator-shares, the combination with a dropper having a foot and a plate secured to said foot by rivets, of a share having inclined open slots, said share being accommodated between said foot and said plate. . . . (7.) In improvements relating to cultivator-shares, the disposition or arrangement of the shares as described and illustrated, with reference to Figs. 2, 7, and 8 of the drawings.

No. 30619.—24th December, 1910.†—GEORGE NICHOLAS LARKIN, of Morton Street, North Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, Dentist. An appliance for washing domestic crockery.
Claim.—(1.) An appliance for the purpose stated consisting of a box adapted to contain crockery or the like, a water-chamber attached thereto, a pump designed to deliver water through a swivel-jointed discharge-pipe arranged within the said box and terminating in a spreader, all substantially as described and illustrated. (Specification, 3s. 9d.)

In Gazette No. 91, of the 16th November, 1911, the date in No. 28752 should be altered from “18th November, 1910,” to “16th December, 1910.”
In Gazette No. 79, of the 5th October, 1911, the date in No. 28472 should be altered from “22nd September, 1909,†” to “22nd September, 1910.”
Copies of drawings may be obtained at the uniform price of 1s. each. In exceptional cases this price may be increased at the discretion of the Office.
