Note.—Cold and showery weather prevailed during the month, with a high barometer. Although rain fell on seventeen days the total fall was considerably below the average of former years. Total bright sunshine 117 hours 45 minutes, and four sunless days. Frosts occurred on five mornings. The mean earth temperature at 1 ft. was 53°, and 54·8° at 3 ft. Mean dew-point, 43·4°; mean elastic force of vapour, 0·281 inches; and mean relative humidity, 73 per cent. of saturation.
