Land set apart for Selection.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section seventy-seven of the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, as amended by section twenty-two of the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Amendment Act, 1910, it is, amongst other things, enacted that in no case shall any moneys be expended under the provisions of the said section seventy-seven in connection with any block of land unless that block is set apart for selection under that section pursuant to Proclamation in that behalf:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of every power and authority enabling me in this behalf, and for the purposes of the aforesaid Acts, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the land described in the Schedule hereto as set apart for selection.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-first day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and twelve.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section three hundred and eighty-nine of the Native Land Act, 1909, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby lay out and take as a road the land described in the Schedule hereto.

ERRATA.—In the Schedule to the Proclamation dated 17th May, 1912, revoking the reservation over Section 10, Block IX, Hunua Survey District, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 46, of the 23rd May, 1912, page 1707, for “Block IX, Hunua Survey District,” read “Block VIII, Hunua Survey District.”

In notice fixing the closing-hours of chemists’ and druggists’ shops in the Borough of Lyttelton under the Shops and Offices Act, on page 1503, New Zealand Gazette, 2nd May, 1912, delete all the following words in the second paragraph from line six: “except on Thursdays (the statutory half-holiday), when such shops shall be closed at 1 p.m., and may reopen from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., but only for the supply of medicines and surgical appliances.”

After a massive fire destoyed the wooden Parliament complex in 1907, Old Government House (depicted) became the seat of Parliament until 1918. Demolished in 1969 to make way for the Beehive.
