No. 31192.—20th May, 1911.†—ALEXANDER WYLLIE RODGER, of “Jesmond,” 88 Auckland Road, Norwood, London S.E., England, Gentleman. Improvements relating to the protection of window-curtains and the like.

Claim.—(1.) In a combination of devices consisting of a sash or the like and a detachable protective covering, which together form a compartment adapted to completely enclose the curtain or the like, applying the covering to the sash or the like by means of hinge-like fittings, the parts of which are readily separable from one another, so as to enable the covering to be quickly applied to and detached from the sash or the like, substantially as described. No. 31239.—30th April, 1912.—JESSE MEAD, of Auckland, New Zealand, Engineer. An improved releaser for milking-machines.

Claims.—(1.) In milk-releasers, an intercepting-vessel arranged within the milk-pipe line, in combination with a pair of cylinders arranged beneath it, and means whereby each cylinder, alternately with the other, may be closed and connected with the intercepting-vessel and a source of vacuum while the other is cut off therefrom and opened, substantially as specified. . . . (3.) In milk-releasers, in combination, an intercepting-vessel arranged in the milk-pipe line; a pair of cylinders arranged beneath it; a disc-plate formed with an upper pair of ports each connected by a pipe-branch with one of the cylinders, and with a lower pair of ports each connected by a separate pipe-branch with one of the cylinders; a second disc-plate having an upper chamber on the front thereof connected with a source of vacuum, with port openings formed therein, arranged coincidently with the upper pair of ports in the first disc-plate, and having a lower chamber on the front thereof connected with the intercepting-vessel, with port openings formed therein, arranged coincidently with the lower pair of ports in the first disc-plate; and a third disc-plate arranged to rotate reciprocally between the other plates and formed with port openings therein, adapted at each limit of its movement to connect one each of the upper and lower ports of the first disc with the respective chambers on the second disc while cutting the other ports off therefrom, and means whereby such disc may be given a reciprocating partial rotation, substantially as specified.
