New Zealand. A combined vacuum-operated motor and
pump for elevating milk and other liquids.
Claims.—(1.) Means for elevating milk and other liquids,
consisting in the combination of a pump with a reciprocating

leading from a source of vacuum into the outer end of the
smaller cylinder, a second pair of cylinders arranged in
tandem in a line parallel with the main cylinders, piston-
valves connected together by a rod mounted therein, means

of such cylinders, and a connection between this cylinder and
the outer end of the larger main cylinder, so arranged that at
one limit of movement of the piston-valve therein connection
will be made between the vacuum-pipe and the connection
leading to the main cylinder, and at the other limit such
connection will be broken and the connection to the main
cylinder open to air, substantially as specified.
