Notice of Request to amend Specification.

Patent Office,
Wellington, 11th April, 1912.

R EQUEST for leave to amend the undermentioned application for Letters Patent has been received and is open to public inspection at this office. Any person may, at any time from one month from the date of this Gazette, give me notice in writing of opposition to the amendments. Such notice must set forth the particular grounds of objection, and be in duplicate. A fee of 10s. is payable therein.

No. 30649.—21st December, 1911.—G. J. Hoskins, application for preparing moulds for casting iron pipes. (Advertised in Supplement to New Zealand Gazette, No. 10, of the 8th February, 1912.)

The nature of the proposed amendments is as follows:—

(1.) To omit claims 1 and 2, lines 28 to 31, page 7, and lines 1 to 10, page 8, and to insert instead the following:—

“1. In apparatus for preparing the moulds for casting iron pipes, in combination, a central island or tower, an annular turntable concentric with and adapted to revolve around the lower part of the central tower, an annular rail on the top surface and near the external edge of the annular turntable, a segmental carriage adapted to revolve around the upper part of the central tower upon the annular rail on the turntable, a scaffold rising from the part of the segmental carriage most remote from the tower, a pillar projecting upwards from the centre of the tower, and a jib-crane adapted to swing in a horizontal plane upon the pillar, all as and for the several purposes herein specifically set forth.”

(2.) To alter claims Nos. 3, 4, 5, to Nos. 2, 3, 4.

(3.) To omit the words “a fixed central island or tower as set forth in claims 1 and 2,” lines 12 and 13, and lines 24 and 25, page 8.

(4.) To alter “the” to “a central,” lines 14 and 26, page 8.

My reason for making these amendments are as follows:—

“Since filing my application for Letters Patent I have received certain information, in consequence of which I am of opinion that the scope of my claims is too wide. I therefore desire to limit the said claims by way of amendment.”

J. C. LEWIS,
Registrar.
