No. 29481.—8th May, 1911.—PETER ROBINSON, Carpenter, and ENDELL WANKLYN, Commission Agent, both of Foxton, New Zealand. Flax-tailing clipper.*

Extract from Specification.—The invention consists, broadly, in the employment of a stationary knife-blade or block, across the edge of which the flax-tails are dragged by the chain, in conjunction with a rotating knife blade or blades, which in their rotation pass across the stationary blade and thereby sever the portion of the blade hanging over its edge.
(Specification, 3s. 3d.)

[NOTE.—The above extract from the specification is inserted in place of the claims.]

No. 29503.—2nd May, 1911.—SCOTT SYMINGTON, of Invercargill, New Zealand, Electrical Engineer. Improvements in section-insulators for overhead electric trolley-lines.*

Extract from Specification.—The principal objects of the improvements are to provide an insulator in which the insulation is supplied by means of ordinary strain insulators, and so applied that the strain of the trolley-wire is transmitted directly to and in the same plane as the axis of the insulators, thereby relieving all strain on the body of the insulator, excepting tensional ones, and providing perfect insulation in a cheap form. These objects are attained by the use of two metal brackets or plates (aa), arched in shape and with tongues (bb) on the under-side, along which the trolley-wheel runs. The trolley-wire (cc) is attached to one end of each of these brackets by the clamping blocks and nuts (dd) in a direct line with the tongues on the under-side and so as to attain a smooth under-running surface.
(Specification, 1s. 9d.)

[NOTE.—The above extract from the specification is inserted in place of the claims.]

No. 29704.—9th June, 1911.—MILDRED ANNIE TRENT, of Christchurch, New Zealand, Spinster. A combined coffee- and milk-urn.*

Extract from Specification.—The appliance designed consists of a bottom chamber, preferably of cylindrical form, adapted to contain water and to be supported or built over a gas-burner or other heating-apparatus. A second chamber is constructed to fit into and rest upon the top of the bottom chamber so as to close such top, being supported therein by means of a ledge extending out from the side of the upper chamber and resting on the edge of the lower chamber. Each chamber is provided with a draw-off tap opening through its side, and arranged near the bottom thereof.
(Specification, 2s. 6d.)

[NOTE.—The above extract from the specification is inserted in place of the claims.]
