PUBLIC NOTICE.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR A ROAD.
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Whangarei County Council propose, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work, to wit, the construction of a road through Section 3, Parish of Parahaki, and for the purposes of such public work to take the land described in the Schedule hereto. And notice is hereby further given that the said Whangarei County Council have caused a survey to be made and a plan to be prepared showing the lands required to be taken, together with the names of the owners and occupiers of such land as far as they can be ascertained. A copy of such plan is deposited at the dwellinghouse of Thomas Sparrow Carmichael, in the Whareora Road District, in which road district the land proposed to be taken is situated, and is open to inspection by all persons at all reasonable hours. And notice is hereby also given that all persons affected by the taking of such land are called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the execution of such work or to the taking of the said land, and to send such writing, within forty days from the 3rd day of April, 1912 (being the date of the first publication of this notice), to the Whangarei County Council, at their office, Bank Street, Whangarei.

WAIHI GRAND JUNCTION GOLD COMPANY (LIMITED).
NOTICE is hereby given that the office or place of business of the said company for all purposes except the keeping of the Share Register is removed to the office of the company at Waihi. The Share Register will continue to be kept as heretofore at the office of the Talisman Consolidated, corner of Queen and Swanson Streets, Auckland.

BOROUGH OF WOOLSTON.
In the matter of the Rating Act, 1908, and of the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1908.
I HEREBY give public notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Woolston taken on the 3rd day of April, 1912, on the proposal that the adoption of the system of rating property on the basis of the unimproved value thereof be rescinded in the Borough of Woolston, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 167; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 310; informal votes, 8.
I therefore hereby declare the said proposal to be rejected.
