the Crown and all persons who are the owners of the land; and the Governor may by Proclamation, at any time after the contract of purchase has been so made, declare that the land so purchased is vested in His Majesty the King, and it shall vest accordingly and shall become Crown land:

And whereas a resolution was passed by a meeting of assembled owners, and duly confirmed by the Ikaroa District Maori Land Board, that the land set out in the Schedule hereto be sold to the Crown:

And whereas the Native Land Purchase Board duly considered and adopted the resolution:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section three hundred and sixty-eight of the said Act, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land set out in the Schedule hereto is vested in His Majesty the King, and is Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land situate in the Provincial District of Wellington, containing 1,422 acres 2 roods 35 perches, more or less, being the land known as Mangatainoka 1A No. 1 West Block, and being part of the land comprised in certificate of title, Volume 47, folio 197, of the Register-book of the Wellington Land Registration District.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this third day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and twelve.

Prison proclaimed.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled the Prisons Act, 1908, it is provided that the Governor may, by Proclamation published in the Gazette, declare any house, building, enclosure, or place to be a prison, and from and after the gazetting of any such Proclamation, or from any later time specified in the Proclamation, such house, building, enclosure, or place shall be deemed a prison:

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the above-recited power and authority, do hereby declare that the buildings erected upon the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto, and all enclosures used or occupied therewith, shall, from and after the publication of this Proclamation in the Gazette, be a prison, known as the Waikeria Prison, within the meaning and for the purposes of the Prisons Act, 1908.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement about 68 acres, being part of Tokanui C No. 21B Block, situated in Block XVI, Puniu Survey District. Bounded towards the east and north-east by the Mangatutu Stream from the confluence of the Mangamaire Stream with the said Mangatutu Stream to the northern boundary of Tokanui C No. 20B Block; thence towards the south-east by the last-mentioned block to the Mangamaire Stream; and thence towards the west and north-west by the said Mangamaire Stream to the place of commencement.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this sixth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and twelve.

Consenting to closing Road in Block IX, Karioi Survey District, Raglan County.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fourth day of April, 1912.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE T. MACKENZIE, F.R.G.S., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and thirty-three (a) of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is enacted that a local authority shall not declare any county road or district road to be stopped, and such road shall not be deemed to be stopped, until the consent thereto of the Governor by Order in Council gazetted is obtained:

And whereas the Raglan County Council has applied for such consent in respect to the road described in the Schedule hereto:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the above-in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the Raglan County Council closing the road described in the Schedule hereto.

In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked and coloured as above mentioned, and deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fourth day of April, 1912.

THE HONOURABLE T. MACKENZIE, F.R.G.S., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a Government road.
