Resuming Land for a Gravel-pit and for a Road to give Access
thereto in Block VIII, Huangarua Survey District, Wel-
ington Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and forty-four of
the Land Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said
Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor in
Council may by Proclamation resume possession of any
land leased under Part III of the said Act, or under any
corresponding Part of the Land Act, 1892, which in his
opinion is required for any public purpose:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto
forms part of land which is held on lease in perpetuity
from His Majesty the King issued under the Land Act,
1892, the Land for Settlements Consolidation Act, 1900, and
the Land for Settlements Amendment Act, 1901, dated the
thirty-first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and six:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, the land
mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required for public
purposes—that is to say, for a gravel-pit and for a road to
give access thereto :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred
and forty-four of the Land Act, 1908, and section sixty-
seven of the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and of all other
powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this be-
half, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington,
the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said Dominion, do hereby proclaim and declare that
I hereby resume possession of the land mentioned in the
Schedule hereto for the public purposes hereinbefore
mentioned, the same being part of the land held under
lease in perpetuity as aforesaid.
