Notifying Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale by Public Auction.
ISLINGTON, Governor.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of the Land Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Friday, the first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twelve, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

These sections front Kepler Street, close to Waikato River, and about three-quarters of a mile from the railway-station. Ngaruawahia is situated on the Main Trunk line, seventy-four miles south of Auckland.

Opening Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the twenty-sixth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twelve, and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

Whakatane County.—Matata Parish.
Altitude, 40 ft. to 100 ft. above sea-level. About 10 acres flat land, balance undulating, covered with fern and scrub. Soil of fair quality, of a sandy nature, on pumice formation; indifferently watered by spring. Situated one mile from Te Teko by formed road.

Mangonui County.—Rangaunu Survey District.

Altitude, 5 ft. to 150 ft. above sea-level. About 20 acres level land, balance undulating and hilly. Soil a sandy loam, of fair quality on the flat, on sandstone formation; well watered. Fronts Rangaunu Bay, a little over two miles from Mangatete by rough track across the gumfield.

Soil inferior clay loam, on pipeclay subsoil; indifferently watered by springs. Situated about thirteen miles from Mangonui—ten miles formed dray-road, balance bridle-track.
Mangonui County.—Whakapaku Parish.

Undulating and hilly land, a considerable portion being ploughable; about 20 acres light mixed forest comprising puriri, taraire, kohekohe, tawai, and two or three kauri-trees suitable for building purposes; medium undergrowth of nikau, punga, kiekie, toikiwi, and supplejack; balance fern and manuka. Soil an inferior clay, on sandstone formation; well watered by small streams. Situated eight miles from Mangonui—about five miles coach-road, balance bridle-track.

Low-lying hills and undulating to level land, mostly ploughable; covered with fern and manuka scrub, with a fringe of high manuka along water-frontage; interspersed with scattered puriri, manuka, and kohekohe, and thick undergrowth of tussock, grass, and a little flax. Soil inferior yellow clay and pipeclay, on limestone formation; indifferently watered by streams, but water can be obtained by sinking. Fronts main Whangarei-Waipu Road and Mangapai River. About two miles from Mangapai Wharf by dray-road.
