NOTE.—Of those summarily convicted, 4,593 men and 506 women were dismissed with cautions, without being sentenced to imprisonment, fine, or other punishment; and 56 men and 2 women were released under the First Offenders' Probation Act.

The number of offences (included in the table) charged against persons of the Native race was 529: of the persons so charged, 455 were summarily convicted, 28 committed for trial or sentence, and 46 dismissed. (For particulars see subsequent table.)
