New Electoral Rolls formed.

WHEREAS by subsection (7) of section 82 of the Legislature Act, 1908, it is enacted that upon new electoral rolls being formed every Registrar of Electors shall give notice thereof to the Minister, who shall publish the fact in the Gazette :

Now, therefore, I, the Minister in charge of the Electoral Department, do hereby publish that I have received such notice from the Registrars of Electors for the undermentioned districts, that is to say :—

Returning Officers for certain Licensing Districts appointed.

HIS Excellency the Governor has, in pursuance of the powers vested in him by the Licensing Act, 1908, been pleased to appoint the undermentioned persons to be Returning Officers for the licensing districts set opposite their names respectively :—

Notice specifying the Sections of the Licensing Amendment Act, 1910, under which the Licensing Poll shall be taken in Licensing Districts.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

WHEREAS by reason of changes in electoral districts the licensing districts mentioned in the Schedule hereto (being all the licensing districts) are new districts within the meaning of section twelve of the Licensing Amendment Act, 1910 :

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers vested in me by that section, and for the purposes of paragraphs (c) and (d) of that section, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that at the first licensing poll to be taken in such new districts (being the first licensing poll after the gazetting of this notice) the poll shall be taken under the sections of the Licensing Amendment Act, 1910, as specified in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE.

In the following new districts the licensing poll shall be taken under section 8 of the Licensing Amendment Act, 1910 : Grey Lynn, Eden, Ohinemuri, Masterton, Wellington South, Wellington Suburbs and Country District, Ashburton, Oamaru, Clutha, Bruce, Mataura, Invercargill.

In all other new districts (to wit, these hereinafter mentioned) the licensing poll shall be taken under section 3 of the said Act : Bay of Islands, Kaipara, Marsden, Waitemata, Auckland (comprising the electoral districts of Auckland West, Auckland Central, and Auckland East), Parnell, Manukau, Franklin, Raglan, Thames, Waikato, Tauranga, Bay of Plenty, Taumarunui, Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Napier, Waipawa, Pahiatua, Wairarapa, Taranaki, Stratford, Egmont, Patea, Waimarino, Wanganui, Oroua, Rangitikei, Palmerston, Otaki, Hutt, Wellington (comprising the electoral districts of Wellington North, Wellington Central, and Wellington East), Nelson, Motueka, Buller, Grey, Westland, Wairau, Hurunui, Kaiapoi, Avon, Christchurch (comprising the electoral districts of Christchurch North, Christchurch East, and Christchurch South), Riccarton, Ellesmere, Lyttelton, Selwyn, Temuka, Timaru, Waitaki, Otago Central, Chalmers, Dunedin (comprising the electoral districts of Dunedin North, Dunedin West, and Dunedin Central), Dunedin South, Wakatipu, Awarua, Wallace.
