finely divided material, held in position between layers of wire gauze supported by smut-wire mesh, grids, or the like. A disinfectant and antiseptic liquid or powder falls from a vessel placed above the inlet to the receptacle, and mixes with the dirt-laden air as it enters the receptacle. In my apparatus water is not necessary for the purpose of filtering, but for the purpose of distributing the disinfectant and antiseptic liquid or powder water in the receptacle is considered the best medium.
