will have been cleared of milling-timber. Sufficient timber shall be left on each section for fencing and general farming purposes.

The Land Board may authorize the laying-down and working of tram-lines through these lots by other persons than the licensees of the particular lots affected.

The licensee shall not put, throw, or place, or allow to be put, thrown, or placed, into any river, stream, watercourse, or into any place where it may be washed into any river, stream, or watercourse, any sawdust or other sawmill refuse.

If the timber on any lot is unsold at auction the right to cut it at the upset price will remain open for application until further notice.

Each lot will be sold generally in accordance with the area and boundaries as shown on the sale map at the District Lands Office, Wellington.

No compensation will be given nor shall any be claimed for any error, discrepancy, or misdescription whatever in respect of any lot or in these conditions.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land is open for selection on renewable lease, and applications will be received at this office and the local Lands Office, Gisborne, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Friday, the 13th day of October, 1911, under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1908.
Applicants will have to appear personally before the Land Board at the local Lands Office, Gisborne, at 10 o’clock a.m. on Monday, the 16th day of October, 1911, to answer any questions the Land Board may ask, but if any applicant so desires he may be examined by the Land Board of the district in which he resides.
The ballot for the section, if there is more than one applicant, will be held on Monday, the 16th October, 1911, at 2.30 o’clock p.m., at the local Lands Office, Gisborne.
Preference will be given to landless applicants, and the decision of the Land Board as to which of the applicants are landless shall be final and conclusive.

NATIVE LAND COURT NOTICES.
IN THE NATIVE LAND COURT OF NEW ZEALAND.
In the matter of the Whakapaupakihi No. 2 Block, and of an application by Wiremu A. Paikea under section 39 of the Native Land Court Act, 1894, in respect of the succession to Harete Waiti, deceased (which was pending at the commencement of the Native Land Act, 1909).
WHEREAS the above application was referred by me to the Native Land Court for inquiry and report, and the same has been duly reported on: And whereas it appears that the order made appointing successors to the said Harete Waiti, deceased, was made in error:
Now, therefore, for the purpose of rectifying the said error, and in exercise of the powers in that behalf vested in me by section 39 aforesaid and section 433 of the Native Land Act, 1909, I hereby order that the said order made on the 7th October, 1895, granting succession to Harete Waiti, deceased, in Whakapaupakihi No. 2 Block aforesaid, be and the same is hereby amended by striking out the names of Te Ua Tawhito (f.), Ani Whakaruru (f.), and Te Tuhi Tawhito (m.), and substituting in lieu thereof the names of Wiremu A. Paikea (m.) and Ani te Hungaorehua (f.), sharing equally.
