Altering the Boundaries of Clifton and Ohura Counties.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this thirtieth day of September, 1911.

Present :

PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS, in exercise of the powers conferred by section sixteen of the Counties Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed β€œthe said Act”), the Clifton County Council and the Ohura County Council respectively did, by an instrument bearing date the fourteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, formally agree that the boundaries of the said counties should be altered to the extent set forth in the said instrument, and also in the Schedule hereto: And whereas it is expedient that such alteration of boundaries be approved by the Governor in Council, and that such altered boundaries be defined in terms of the said Act:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the power and authority conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that, on and after the publication of these presents in the New Zealand Gazette, the boundaries of the Counties of Clifton and Ohura respectively shall be those set forth under their respective headings in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

CLIFTON COUNTY.

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District bounded towards the north generally by a line along the middle of the Mokau River from the sea to a point in line with the western boundary of Mokau-Mohakatino No. 1H Block; thence towards the east generally by a right line to and by the said western boundary of Mokau-Mohakatino No. 1H Block to Trig. Station Tawhitiraupaka; thence by Section No. 3, Block III, Waro Survey District, to the Mohakatino Stream; thence by that stream to its confluence with a stream which intersects the Mohakatino-Parininihi No. 1D East Block, the said confluence being near the westernmost corner of Section No. 1, Block III, Waro Survey District; thence by the said stream intersecting the Mohakatino-Parininihi No. 1D East Block to the Mohakatino Road; thence by that road to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 6, Block VI, Waro Survey District; thence by Sections Nos. 6 and 5, Block VI aforesaid, to the Tongaporutu-Mangaroa Road; thence by that road to where it intersects Section No. 3, Block VI aforesaid; thence by the said Section No. 3 to the Mangatawa Stream; thence by that stream to its confluence with the Kotare Stream; thence by the said Kotare Stream to the Tongaporutu-Mangaroa Road; thence by that road to Section No. 3, Block VI, Waro Survey District; thence by that section and Section No. 1, Block VII, Waro Survey District, to the Kotare Road; thence by that road to the Waitaanga Stream; thence by that stream to the confiscation boundary-line; thence by the confiscation boundary-line to the western boundary of Block XVI, Waro Survey District; thence by Block XVI aforesaid and Block IV, Pouatu Survey District, to Whangamomona County, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 26, of the 30th March, 1911; thence towards the south and south-east generally by the said Whangamomona County to Te Wera Road; thence towards the south by Stratford County, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 34, of the 27th April, 1911, to the Waitara River; thence towards the south-west by a line along the middle of the Waitara River to the Borough of Waitara; thence by that borough and the Waitara River to the sea; and thence towards the north and north-west by the sea to the place of commencement.

OHURA COUNTY.

All that area in the Taranaki Land District bounded towards the north generally by Waitomo County from the Mokau River to the Ongarue River; thence towards the east by the said Ongarue River to its confluence with the Wanganui River; thence towards the south-east generally by the Wanganui River to the north-eastern corner of Whangamomona County, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 26, of the 30th March, 1911; thence towards the south by the said Whangamomona County to the western boundary of Clifton County; and thence towards the west generally by Clifton County hereinbefore described to the Mokau River, and by that river to the place of commencement.
