Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Taranaki Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for a site for a post-office.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods, more or less, being Section 108, Block IV, Paritutu Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by the Breakwater Road, 293·1 links; towards the south-east by part of Native Reserve No. 1, Grey District, 170·6 links; towards the south by other part of Native Reserve No. 1, Grey District, 170·6 links; and towards the west by Barrett Road, 293·1 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 37252/31, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-second day of September, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 22 acres and 37 perches, more or less, being Section 30, Block I, Whakapoi Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by the road along the left bank of Gunner Creek, towards the south-east by Section 28 of the before-mentioned Block I, towards the south-west by Section 31 of the said block, and towards the north-west by the road forming the south-eastern boundary of Section 29 of the said block; as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 5552/1, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-second day of September, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the fourth section of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
WILLIAM McLACHLAN
to be a Trustee, in the place of Frederick Williams, left the district, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Matata Public Cemetery, in conjunction with Fred James Burt, Harold Cuff, George William Collins, and William Cleveland Savage, previously appointed.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-second day of September, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Powers delegated to the Summit Road Scenic Board under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908.

ISLINGTON, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the reserve described in the Schedule below (being land reserved under the said Act), for the period of three years from the date hereof (unless previously altered or revoked under the said Act), in the undermentioned persons, who shall be known as the Summit Road Scenic Board, namely,—
THE COMMISSIONER OF CROWN LANDS for the Canterbury Land District (ex officio),
HENRY GEORGE ELL, Esq., M.P., Christchurch,
LEONARD COCKAYNE, Esq., Ph.D., Linwood,
WILLIAM REECE, Esq., Christchurch,
ARTHUR ROSCOE VERNON MORTEN, Esq., Hornby,
GEORGE THOMAS BOOTH, Esq., New Brighton, and
GEORGE HARPER, Esq., Riccarton
(herein referred to as “the Board”), in trust for the preservation of scenery, and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say,—
MEETINGS.

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on the first Tuesday in each month, at half-past three o’clock p.m., at the District Lands Office, Christchurch, or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Tuesday, the seventeenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

Any four members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.

The Commissioner of Crown Lands shall be the Chairman of the Board, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote.

The Board shall prepare and submit at an annual meeting to be held in the month of April in each year a report of the proceedings of the Board for the previous year ending on the thirty-first day of March, together with a statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Board for such year. A copy of every such report and statement, certified by the Chairman to be correct, shall be sent to the Minister in Charge of Scenery Preservation as soon as possible after each annual meeting.

If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose some one of their number to be chairman of such meeting.

If, by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise, the seat of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents himself, without reasonable cause, from three consecutive meetings of the Board, the Governor shall have power to appoint any other person to be a member of the Board in his stead.

All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

Also all that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 13 acres and 37 perches, more or less, situated in Block IV, Halswell Survey District, being Reserve No. 3815 (in red), part of the land shown in certificate of title, Vol. 265, folio 36, District Land Registry Office, Christchurch.
