Resuming Land for Scenic Purposes in the Otago Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and forty-four of the Land Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor in Council may, by Proclamation, resume possession of any land leased under Part VI of the said Act, or under any corresponding Part of the Land Act, 1892, which in his opinion is required for any public purpose:
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto forms part of land which is held under pastoral license under Part VI of the Land Act, 1892, dated the thirteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and two:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required for a public purpose—that is to say, for scenic purposes:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby proclaim and declare that I hereby resume possession of the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto for the public purpose hereinbefore mentioned, the same being part of the land held under pastoral license as aforesaid.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 1,169 acres, more or less, situated in Blocks I and VIII, Mid Wakatipu Survey District, and Block XX, Shotover Survey District, and being portion of Pastoral Run No. 10. Bounded by a line commencing at Trig. X, Mid Wakatipu Survey District; thence south-westerly by Crown lands, 3981 links, by Section No. 3, Block VIII, Mid Wakatipu Survey District, 163 links and 2136·1 links; thence south-easterly generally by aforesaid Section No. 3 and Sections Nos. 72 and 66, Block XX, Shotover Survey District, 2569·1, 842·9, 587·9, 1552·4, 2980·2, 2547·1, and 1142·5 links; thence south-westerly by Section No. 19, Block XX, Shotover Survey District, 4232 and 3527·8 links; thence northerly and north-westerly generally by a road-line, 233·9, 239·5, 1411, 675, 406·7, 526·3, 1528·3, 840·1, and 600 links; thence across the road to the north-east corner of Section No. 4, Block I, Mid Wakatipu Survey District, 103·1 links; thence north-westerly by Sections Nos. 19 and 14, Block I, and Section No. 1, Block VIII, Mid Wakatipu Survey District, 721·8 and 6046·5 links; thence south-westerly by Sections Nos. 1 and 2, Block VIII, and 19, Block I, Mid Wakatipu Survey District, 6048·2 links; thence south-easterly by the aforesaid Section No. 19, 5797·6 links; thence south-westerly by Section No. 10, Block I, Mid Wakatipu Survey District, 2244·5 links; thence south-easterly by the aforesaid Section No. 10, 3565 links and 709 links; thence south-westerly by Section No. 20, Block I, Mid Wakatipu Survey District, 414·4 links; thence south-easterly by aforesaid Section No. 20, 2670 links; thence south-westerly by Section No. 1, Block I, Mid Wakatipu
Survey District, 481·8 links; thence north-westerly generally by a road-line, 100·6, 1060·6, 1841, 1464·1, and 490·1 links; thence westerly across a road, 53·7 links; thence north-westerly to a point due south of Ben Lomond, by Crown lands, 8471·2 links; thence due north by Crown lands to Ben Lomond, 7245·8 links; thence north-easterly by Crown lands, 10974 links, to Trig. X, the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 462/9, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered green.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section eleven of the Land Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, with the consents of the owners and mortgagees of the land described in the First Schedule hereto, and of the Raglan County Council, being the local authority in whose district the said land is situated, proclaim as a road the land in Karioi Survey District described in the First Schedule hereto; and also do hereby, with the like consents as aforesaid, proclaim as closed the road described in the Second Schedule hereto, which is not required by reason of the road described in the First Schedule hereto.
