The lease will be for a term of fourteen years from the 1st January, 1912, but subject to termination by twelve months’ notice in the event of the land being required by the Government.

The rent shall be payable half-yearly in advance on the 1st January and 1st July in each year, free from all deductions whatsoever.

The lessee shall not sublet, transfer, or otherwise dispose of his interest in the lease without consent.

The lessee shall have no right to compensation, either for improvements he has put on the land, or on account of the aforesaid resumption, or for any other cause; but he may, on the expiration or sooner determination of the lease, remove all buildings and fences erected by him, but not otherwise.

The lessee shall destroy all rabbits on the land, and shall prevent their increase or spread, to the satisfaction of the Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The lessee shall prevent the growth and spread of gorse, broom, sweetbriar, or other noxious weeds on the land comprised in the lease; and he shall with all reasonable dispatch remove, or cause to be removed, all noxious weeds or plants, as may be directed by the Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The lease shall be liable to forfeiture in case the lessee shall fail to fulfil any of the conditions of the said lease within thirty days after the date on which the same ought to be fulfilled.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land is open for selection on renewable lease, and applications will be received at this office and the local Lands Office, Gisborne, up to 4 o’clock p.m. on Friday, the 13th day of October, 1911, under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1908.
Applicants will have to appear personally before the Land Board at the local Lands Office, Gisborne, at 10 o’clock a.m. on Monday, the 16th day of October, 1911, to answer any questions the Land Board may ask, but if any applicant so desires he may be examined by the Land Board of the district in which he resides.
The ballot for the section, if there is more than one applicant, will be held on Monday, the 16th October, 1911, at 2.30 o’clock p.m., at the local Lands Office, Gisborne.
Preference will be given to landless applicants, and the decision of the Land Board as to which of the applicants are landless shall be final and conclusive.
