THE Government offices throughout New Zealand will be closed on Monday, the 25th September, 1911, in celebration of the fourth anniversary of the day on which the Colony of New Zealand was created a Dominion.

Resolutions made by the Remuera Road Board.

THE following resolutions, made by the Remuera Road Board, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendment.

REMUERA ROAD BOARD.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, the Remuera Road Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £40,000, authorized to be raised by the Remuera Road Board, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, for the drainage of the balance of the Remuera Road District as defined by the boundaries hereinafter described, the said Remuera Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 7/16 of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Remuera Road District No. 2 Drainage-area, comprising all that parcel of land in the Remuera Road District, in the County of Eden, commencing at the junction of Remuera and Brighton Roads, bounded towards the south-west by the Remuera Road, Market Road, and Great South Road to Graham Street; towards the south and south-east by the Mount Wellington and Tamaki West Road Districts to the Orakei Creek; towards the north by the Orakei Basin and Hobson Bay to the Recreation Reserve 5A; towards the west by Arney Road and Brighton Road to the commencing-point: and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until such loan is fully paid off.

I certify that the foregoing resolution was duly passed at a special meeting of the Remuera Road Board held on Thursday, the 10th day of August, 1911.

REMUERA ROAD BOARD.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by section 4 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, the Remuera Road Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of £44,000, authorized to be raised by the Remuera Road Board, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, for the construction and improvement of roads, and for the extension of the waterworks system, and the purchase of the necessary plant, mains, appliances, land, and buildings in connection therewith, the said Remuera Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ⅜d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the whole of the Remuera Road District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until such loan is fully paid off.

I certify that the foregoing resolution was duly passed at a special meeting of the Remuera Road Board held on Thursday, the 10th day of August, 1911.
