Bounded towards the north-east by a public road 100 links wide; towards the south-east by Allotment 170 of Section 10, Suburbs of Auckland; towards the south-west by Allotment 171 of Section 10 aforesaid; and towards the north-west by a public road 100 links wide: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1402/20A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. Land temporarily reserved for a Public Recreation-ground in the Wellington Land District.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Wellington Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for a public recreation-ground.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 20 acres 3 roods 22 perches, more or less, being Section 12, Block VI, Hunua Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west and north-east generally by a road and river-bank reserve, and by a public road; towards the south by Section 29, Block VI, Hunua Survey District, 642·15 links; towards the south-west by Crown land, 1733·4 links, bearing 286° 22′ 43″; and towards the west by Section 1, Block VI aforesaid: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1484, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this second day of September, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Land temporarily reserved for a Public Cemetery in Block IX, Waoku Survey District, Auckland Land District.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Bounded towards the north-east by Section No. 16, Block IX, Waoku Survey District, 500 links; towards the south-east by a public road, 312·2 links; and towards the south-west and north-west by Section No. 16 aforesaid, 500 and 312·2 links respectively: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1698/1, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (Auckland Plan 14528, blue.)

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this second day of September, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Inspector of Scaffolding appointed.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

WHEREAS by the Scaffolding Inspection Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time appoint Inspectors of Scaffolding to carry out the provisions of the said Act, and define the district within which each Inspector shall exercise his functions:

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby appoint

JOHN JACKSON

to be an Inspector of Scaffolding under the said Act; and do hereby declare that the district within which he shall exercise his functions shall comprise the Industrial District of Westland.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-ninth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Amended and Additional Regulations under the Mining Act, 1908.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

IN exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the Mining Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby make the following amendments and additions to the regulations made under the said Act on the twenty-fifth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and nine, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the twenty-eighth day of October then instant; and doth hereby order that the regulations hereby made shall be read as part of the said principal regulations, and shall come into force on the day of the gazetting hereof.


REGULATIONS.

  1. REGULATION 94 of the principal regulations is hereby amended by inserting the following clauses:—

(5A.) In raising or lowering persons the rate of speed shall not exceed 200 ft. per minute when the cage or other conveyance is within 100 ft. of the surface, bottom, or stopping-place, nor 500 ft. per minute when it is in any other part of the shaft.
