(LIMITED), Woollen-merchants, having its registered office at Manchester, in England, having for some time past carried on business at Farish Street, in Wellington, in the Dominion of New Zealand, intend and will on the expiration of three months after publication of this notice cease to carry on such business or any other business in New Zealand.

NOTICE UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1908.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the District of Auckland intends to form and construct a playground in connection with a public school, and to take under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, for the purposes of a playground in connection with a public school the following land, namely:—

All that piece of land, containing 2 roods 1 perch and 8/100 of a perch, more or less, being Lots 32 and 33 of the subdivision of Allotment 25 of Section 8 of the Suburbs of Auckland.

A plan of the said land is deposited at the office of the Education Board of the District of Auckland, in Victoria Arcade, Queen Street, in the City of Auckland, being the place directed by the said Board, and is there open for inspection by all persons at all reasonable hours.

All persons affected are hereby required and called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the formation and construction of a playground in connection with a public school or to the taking of such lands, and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Education Board of the District of Auckland, at its office, Victoria Arcade, Queen Street, in the City of Auckland.

THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1908, AND THE AUCKLAND AND SUBURBAN DRAINAGE ACT, 1908.

IN pursuance of the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board hereby gives notice that it intends to construct a sewer or drain from Willow Street to Union Street, in the City of Auckland, and do all works and things incidental thereto, and that for the purpose and object of so doing the land described in the Schedule hereto is required and will require to be taken by the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board under the provisions of the above Acts, and that a survey has been made and a plan prepared, signed by ERIC C. GOLD SMITH, Chief Surveyor, and numbered 15983, showing such land; and that a copy of such plan has been deposited in the office of the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board, Coburg Street, in the City of Auckland, the place directed by the said Board, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected are hereby required to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the execution of such works and the taking of such land, and to send such writing, within forty days from the 20th day of March, 1911 (being the date of the first publication of this notice), to the Secretary of the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and of the Standard Oil Company of New Zealand (Limited).

NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the above-named company by the Supreme Court, or, in the alternative, subject to the supervision of the Supreme Court, was, on the 7th day of July, 1911, presented to Mr. Justice Edwards, a Judge of the Supreme Court, by William Joseph Rainger, Alfred Finlay, Samuel Hastings Brooking, Arthur Pollard Wilson, Henry Thompson Gorrie, John Martin Wilson, Felix Vincent Kelly, and Tom Markwick, all of Auckland, John Candlish Allen, of Annandale, and Edwin Henry Hardy, of Te Kuiti, contributories of the said company. And the said petition is directed to be heard before a Judge of the said Court on the 17th day of August, 1911, at 10 a.m., at the Supreme Court, Auckland; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to oppose the making of an order for the winding-up of the said company under the above Act should appear at the time of hearing by himself or his counsel for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same, by the undersigned, on payment of the regulated charge for the same.
