Order of the Native Land Court awarding Compensation to Owners of Undivided Interests in Rotorua Township not acquired by the Crown prior to the Passing of the Thermal Springs Districts Act, 1910.

THE following order of the Native Land Court, made under the provisions of section 11 of the Thermal Springs Districts Act, 1910, is published for general information.

IN THE NATIVE LAND COURT
OF NEW ZEALAND.

In the matter of the Thermal Springs Districts Act, 1910, of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of the Native Land Act, 1909; and in the matter of the Te Pukeroa Oruawhata Block, vested by virtue of section 10 of the Thermal Springs Districts Act, 1910, in His Majesty the King, and of an application by the Minister of Lands to ascertain the compensation payable in respect thereof.

Tuesday, the 25th day of July, 1911.

At a sitting of the Native Land Court commenced at Rotorua on the 23rd day of May, 1911, before Robert Noble Jones, Charles Edward MacCormick, and Walter Edward Rawson, Judges, and continued at Auckland on the 25th day of July, 1911: Upon hearing Mr. Moore on behalf of some of the Native claimants, Mr. Carter on behalf of other Native claimants, and Mr. Mays on behalf of the Crown, and all other parties who claimed to be heard: And upon hearing the evidence produced before the Court, and the matters required to be done and per-

formed by the Court in order to assess the compensation having been duly done and performed: It is hereby ordered, determined, ascertained, and awarded that the whole amount of compensation payable to the owners or other persons interested in the land described in the Second Schedule to the Thermal Springs Districts Act, 1910, is the sum of £592. And it is further ordered, determined, and ascertained that the persons’ names in the Schedule are the persons entitled to be paid the said compensation, in the amounts set out opposite their respective names; and the Court doth order and direct that the sum so awarded shall be paid to the respective persons entitled thereto, and that the interest to be paid thereon in accordance with law in case of non-payment shall be at the rate of £5 per cent. per annum.

Notice by the Public Trustee under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II).

To the owner or owners of a parcel of land containing 47 acres 2 roods, more or less, being the south-eastern portion of Section 173, in the Parish of Waiotahi, in the Provincial District of Auckland. The registered owner of the land is William Brown, of Onuku, who cannot now be traced.

WHEREAS the Public Trustee has instituted inquiries, and has not thereby ascertained who the owner or owners of the above-described land is or are, and believes that such owner is, or owners are, not in the Dominion:

Now, this notice calls upon such owner or owners, within six months of the date of the publication of this notice in this Gazette, to establish to the satisfaction of the Public Trustee his or their title to the land specified in this notice; and, if such owner does or owners do not, within the time limited, so establish his or their title, the Public Trustee will exercise the powers and authorities granted to him in and by the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II).
