No. 29753. — 20th June, 1911. — RUDOLPH HERMANN McHARDY, of No. 68 Osbaldeston Road, Stamford Hill, London, England, Mechanical Expert. Improvements in and connected with piano-players and the like.
Claims.—(1.) In automatic piano-players, a case accommodating essentially a vacuum motor, a record-roller, fittings to accommodate a take-up spool, means for driving the record-roller and take-up spool, means whereby the direction of rotation of the record-rollers and take-up spool can be reversed at will and whereby their speed can be controlled, a tracker-bar, tubes communicating from the ports in the tracker-bar to a rail near the bottom of the case, ports leading to the exterior of said rail, and means whereby said case can be secured to a tracker-bar beneath the keyboard of the instrument to which the player is adapted.

No. 29767.—21st June, 1911.—ROSA COLLIER, of Clinton, Otago, New Zealand, Medical Practitioner. Improved curative mixture for coughs, colds, sore throats, and the like ailments.
Claim.—In an improved curative mixture for coughs, colds, sore throats, and the like ailments, the described composition of matter consisting of aromatic spirits of ammonia, spirits of nitrous æther, spirits of chloroform, compound tincture of camphor, compound tincture of cardamones, and peppermint-water in the quantities specified, for the purpose set forth.

No. 29788. — 28th June 1911. — FREDERICK NEWNHAM CHRISTIAN, of Tauranga, New Zealand, Engineer. Improved means for use in drawing off liquids from receptacles containing them.
Extract from Specification.—Consists in the combination with a funnel adapted to fit into the opening of the tank and to rest on its edge, of a triangular support for holding the spirit-tin secured upon the top of the funnel, and provided with a piercer device for piercing the tin so that its contents may flow into the funnel and through it into the tank.
