The total births in the four chief cities and their suburban boroughs amounted to 603, against 582 in May—an increase of 21. The deaths in June were 215—a decrease of 36 as compared with last month. Of the total deaths, males contributed 112, females 103. Forty-seven of the deaths were of children under five years of age, being 21·86 per cent. of the whole number; 29 of these were under one year of age.
There were 83 deaths of persons of 65 years and upwards in the four chief cities and their suburban boroughs against 86 in May. The following table shows the classification :—
