ground, and to reserve other lands of equal value as an endowment for primary education in lieu thereof, and the Crown lands described in the first column of the Schedule hereto are deemed to be of equal value to the said endowment:

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section twenty-nine of the Education Reserves Act, 1908, and all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described in the first column of the Schedule hereto are hereby exchanged for the land described in the second column of the said Schedule, and that the lands described in the said first column are hereby reserved and set apart as an endowment for primary education; and also that the land described in the said second column is hereby declared to be Crown land freed and discharged from the trusts upon which it was held.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 1,630 acres, more or less, being Section 1, Block XI, Waihi South Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Run No. 78; towards the east by Section 1, Block XII, Waihi South Survey District; towards the south by Section 5, Block III, Rotoma Survey District; and towards the west generally by the Pukemaku and Pikowai Roads: save and excepting road reserves, 100 links wide, along both sides of the Pikowai and Herepuru Streams which intersect the above-described land: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1402/20c, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon edged purple. (Auckland Plans 13825 3/5, blue.)

All that area in the Auckland Land District; containing by admeasurement 1,268 acres, more or less, being Section 10, Block VIII, Rotoma Survey District. Bounded towards the north by a Native reserve and Section 6, Block VIII, Rotoma Survey District; towards the east by Section 2, Block V, Rangitaiki Upper Survey District; towards the south-east by the Mangaone Stream and the Rotorua-Matata-Te Teko Road; and towards the west by Sections 9 and 7 of Block VIII, Rotoma Survey District: save and excepting a road reserve, 100 links wide, on both sides of the Karawhango Stream intersecting the above-described land: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1402/20b, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon edged purple. Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fifth day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Proclaiming Maori Districts as Districts in which the Provisions of Section 46 of the Licensing Amendment Act, 1910, shall apply.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section forty-six of the Licensing Amendment Act, 1910, it is provided that the Governor may from time to time, on the recommendation of the Maori Council of any district under the Maori Councils Act, 1900, proclaim such district as a district in which the provisions of that section shall apply, and may at any time revoke or vary any such Proclamation:

And whereas the Maori Councils of the Maori Districts of Takitimu and Arawa have respectively recommended those districts as districts in which the provisions of the said section forty-six should be applied:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on me by the said section forty-six, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the following Maori Districts, viz.,—

THE TAKITIMU MAORI DISTRICT and
THE ARAWA MAORI DISTRICT,

as districts in which the provisions of section forty-six of the Licensing Amendment Act, 1910, shall apply.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers conferred by section eleven of the Land Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, with the consents of the lessees and mortgagee of the land described in the First Schedule hereto, and of the Te Puke Road Board, being the local authority in whose district the said land is situated, proclaim as a road the land in Maketu Survey District described in the First Schedule hereto; and also do hereby, with the like consents as aforesaid, proclaim as closed the road described in the Second Schedule hereto, which is not required by reason of the road described in the First Schedule hereto.
