Arrivals and Departures in 1910.

TABLES showing the numbers of arrivals in and departures from New Zealand during the year 1910, with totals for the previous nine years by way of comparison, are published for general information.
The total number of persons who arrived in the Dominion during 1910 was 35,769, and the departures during the year numbered 32,361, the excess of arrivals over departures for the year being 3,408 persons.
According to returns furnished by the Immigration officers, 9,367 persons arrived from the United Kingdom, and 2,509 persons departed therefor during the year. From the Commonwealth of Australia the arrivals are returned as numbering 24,502 persons, and the departures thereto as 27,100 persons. Arrivals and departures from and to other countries were 1,900 and 2,752 persons respectively.
Of the 35,769 persons who came to New Zealand last year, 3,776, or 10·56 per cent. of the total, were children—i.e., under twelve years of age; and of the 32,361 departures the children numbered 2,700, or 8·34 per cent.
